Do you have a criminal record though? I promise you that you'd feel a lot different if you'd been arrested before and get treated like shit every single time you get pulled over whether you're being super nice and polite or not just 'cause they've already ran my license plate and my license and know my entire criminal history which includes a felony assaulting a LEO which was later reduced to a misdemeanor 'cause the cop did a bunch of illegal shit like taking two 6', 300 lb guys outta their cells and bringin them to my holding cell and saying "talk that shit to them like you've been talkin to me" which I promptly did and told him I'd own that fucking jail if they laid a finger on me but I'd beat the fuck out of both of them if he'd quit holding them back.

I understand they're "just doing their job" but they still know the difference between right and wrong, and the difference between true crime like rape, assault, murder, etc.. versus bullshit stuff that's illegal like driving under the influence of RX'd medicine (which I wasn't altered by at the time) and driving on a suspended license (usually a crime against the poor 'cause they can't afford their tickets then get their license suspended due to failure to pay) and driving without insurance (strictly a crime against the poor that can't afford insurance) and possession of weed (which is a lot safer than alcohol which 90+% of them drink on a regular basis) and writing a bad check (again, a crime strictly against the poor).

I hate cops that think in black and white using ONLY what's in their computer INSTEAD of thinking logically and saying to themselves "Is it worth it to arrest this guy on his way to work with his two kids in the back seat just for driving on a suspended license that was just suspended less than 7 hrs ago?".

The cops even said they would've arrested me had I had my paperwork saying my license wasn't supposed to be suspended yet!!! WTF is that? They'll arrest u even if you have documentation that goes against what's in their computer? That's why I keep all my receipts when I pay a traffic ticket 'cause they'll arrest you even if you pay it and the court makes a human error mistake in their computer! I seriously understand why some neighborhoods don't help the cops with anything even shootings and shit you'd expect folks to rat on folks for.

Yeah, I read the article and it was a great article by a cop that can see shit in shades of grey instead of just seeing shit in black and white. I'm glad to hear that coming from a cop because it's the truth. If you're poor, you're gonna face a completely different "justice" system than rich people.

When I went to court in the last city I lived in (that pulled me and my wife over every time we left the house since we had out-of-county license plates), they literally had 2 separate courtrooms. One for folks with a lawyer and one for the "other" folks. Granted, I could afford a lawyer so I got to go to rich people courtroom but I fucked up and picked the one that was friends with the judges and cops instead of picking one that gets off on embarrassing cops on the stand by catching them in lies so I ended up pleading guilty to a charge that I believe they would've had a hard time proving. But like my lawyer said, even though they don't have any actual evidence that I was driving under the influence, it's a cop's word against mine and the judge is gonna believe the cop.

However, I think a good lawyer could've called the cop that pulled me over and asked him if he thought I was under the influence. Then, he probably would've said no but if he said yeah, a good lawyer would've asked why they didn't give me a field sobriety test at the scene or as soon as I got to the station instead of 1-2 hours after I'd been in custody. A good lawyer could've done a number on those lying ass cops but like everyone in this country, I'm scared to take shit to trial and piss them off by NOT taking a plea deal and then get my ass handed to me when sentencing time comes around. In a true "justice" system, everybody should have their day in court and shouldn't be afraid to reject a plea deal if they're truly innocent. It should be illegal for judges to give out crazy long/harsh sentences just 'cause they reject a damn plea deal.

i hope you don't take offense bignasty but when i read your posts about interactions with leo's i get the impression you have a hard time not being argumentative.  not saying that the cops don't deserve your ire but restraint, politeness and feigned respect has gotten me out of tight situations more often than not.  i do appreciate that your record puts you in a different spot than i.  (i do have a felony mj charge on my record for possession of less than a gram in nevada).  but kissing ass has got me off from more serious shit than that.  put the keys on the dash, turn the dome light on, roll down tinted windows, hands on the wheel where cop can see them.  be all "yes sir, no sir."  that's my advice, take or leave as you will.

No offense taken at all 'cause it probably reads that way but it's far from the truth. I pull over as soon as the blue lights come on, roll window down and have license and insurance card ready. I'm all yes sir and no sir, and I always ask them for a break BEFORE they go write the ticket and I've gotten off a few (probably 3-5) in the past few years with just a warning because I'll say I'm in a hurry because of my wife or kids, etc.. Some kinda sob story but not too detailed, just a quick one about my kid is sick and trying to get to pharmacy to get his meds or some shit like that.

Even if they don't let me off with a warning, I still do everything politely and with respect and have even told them "I respect police more than anybody but I really don't need this ticket on my record because of my job" or something along those lines. If they treat me with respect and still give me a ticket, I'll tell them to have a nice day and that I'll slow down or be careful or whatnot. I'm nice 99% of the time 'cause that usually gets me out of at least a no seatbelt ticket or something similar that they could tack on if they wanted.

However, if they're dicks and tack on as many charges as they can (got 6 different charges in 1 night before) and treat me like I'm the scum of the Earth the whole time, I treat them the same way. And I've actually never really argued with a cop or talked shit until I'm in cuffs and in the backseat of the cop car. At that point, might as well ask them "How does it feel to put human beings in cages like they're animals all day for a living?" and shit like that. Then, I talk about their mama and how much they make a year and how they've committed some of the same crimes they arrest people for themselves.

It just gets to me 'cause 100-200 yrs ago, you had to do something serious to go to jail. Even 50 yrs ago, you didn't go to jail for DUI and ticky-tack shit like you do now. A fist fight was just a fist fight 50 yrs ago. Now it's aggravated assault if somebody gets more than a bloody nose. I got my first conviction from a fist fight where I broke the guy's jaw and he deserved it. He was known to the police and had been kicked outta every school in a 50 mile radius of where we lived, and he pulled a gun on me once in Junior High. He was the definition of a "trouble child" and had already been to juvie a few times by the time he was 13. I hit him with my fist and was facing 25 yrs in prison as a juvenile since they charged me as an adult.

And it goes against all human nature to LET ANOTHER MAN handcuff you and put you inside a cage WITHOUT A FIGHT. Could you imagine cavemen or even guys from the Old West just turning around and putting their hands behind their backs and letting another man put them in a cage and totally take away their freedom? It takes every bit of beta male in my body to not swing on cops and/or at least run when they go to cuff me. If I let my true alpha male self act natural, I'd fight 'til the death and go for their guns and everything else to try to not get cuffed. But I just tell myself I'll bail out shortly then hire a lawyer to deal with it.

I'll admit I have trouble with authority but I'm pretty good at faking it and acting nice 99% of the time when I get pulled over. It's only in court or in the backseat of the cop car that I try to argue my point or talk shit. Don't talk shit in court but try to plead with the judge or at least show my side of the story. My alpha male instincts stay WAY OUTSIDE the court or I'd probably be in jail now.

i have never heard our cops ever do that so i put it down to the fact that you are living in the land of the armed, racial tension and maybe even your social security system plays a role in it.

if i lost my license then i could see myself losing my job, the ability to maintain my drug use, to party etc. but i know that i'd survive as i trust in my network.

i certainly would plead my case with the judge but i would not hire anybody to represent me in court. no way - i want it to come from me and only me.

i have always found our justice system to be fair.

may i ask exactly where you stand legally ?

are you getting by ?

how are your interpersonal relationships ?

we can judge ourselves on that one.

are you able to provide for your children ?

society judges us as drug users when it comes to children (conflict of interest).

1) I'm on probation for 6 months in 1 state and on probation for 24 months in another state. They don't know about each other.

2) Yeah, I'm still working and making good money so they'll be happy as long as I keep paying them

3) They're good. Got a few good friends and loving wife and 2 sons. We're doing the best we have in 2 yrs right now.

4) Absolutely. I'd go without 'done before I let my kids want for anything. They're well-fed, shitload of toys everywhere in a 3BR, 2 Bath 1500 square foot house and both have their own bedroom and bed, etc.. They have it made right now and are happy as can be.

Yep, that's why I'm driving the speed limit and staying on 'done, ambien, Adderall, kpins, gabapentin, and xanaflex since I'm RX'd all of them and not smoking weed which I really really want to and am going to as soon as I can find a dealer and know I don't have a UA for my 2 probation officers or 'done clinic coming up within a week or two.

Well, I might smoke as long as I don't have a test for probation coming up 'cause you can fail for weed at my clinic and get put on probation where u gotta go back to taking drug tests twice a month but you don't lose your take-homes. It's not perfect by any means but a lot better than most of the clinics I've been to that take away your take-homes and u go back to the beginning like you just started the clinic and have to earn 1 take home after 30 days then another one after another 90 days, etc..

Fortunately, I can smoke one or two nights then put it down even though I have some left since I've gone so long without smoking and I've quit before from like '07 til '09 because I was on probation AND pre-trial diversion. I can also get one or two good hits and get high AF since it's been awhile. Last time my ol lady found like .2 of good weed that was only enough for a bowl load and I really only got 1 good hit and was laughing my ass off and being talkative. She said "U lucky ass, I didn't get a good hit but I can tell you did and you're feeling it". It works out well having a low tolerance to weed right now 'cause I can take two hits of good bud and get high AF but I drink a lot of water everyday so I can test negative 3-5 days later.

my current & last employers each have an explicit policy not to test for weed (Colorado), the times are changing.  be vocal in your locale, vote, etc...

EVERYONE at my work smokes at lunch (except me, but i'm sort of the old guy).  20 years ago i'd be right there with em.  the type of weed that helps my anxiety tends to muddy the mind, at least mine.  also notice that it blurs my vision which negatively effects my welding.  never heard that anywhere but it does.
