That is some scary shit, it also comes with a 3 day limit to ER prescriptions for opiates. I don't agree with that at all, I remember when I almost got put in for a 72 hour hold it sucks and is frightening. If jail wasn't bad enough now they want health professionals to do it to you as well, you may get comfort meds but geeze detoxing people against their will is just stupid and wrong. Never a good idea.
I don't think the 3 day prescription limit is a good idea either. If you break a bunch of bones or have 3 surgeries in 2 weeks like my grandmas husband just did, 3 days isn't enough. Then he would have to goto a doctor to get prescribed pain control meds which could make things worse because he might not know what to prescribe or keep him on for too long or give him to much or to little making him have to come back or possibly OD. He can't drive and sitting in a car or at a doctors office with staples from under your belly button to your chest would be agonizing.
He is using a documentary called Heroin: cape cod, to get people to vote for it. It about 5 young couples addicted to heroin and that 80% of people got on heroin after getting addicted to prescription drugs. They are saying 4 people a day are dying from OD in that state so people will vote for it after watching the documentary to save the children. I really hope that it gets forgot about and never brought up soon. That governor is probably a hypocritical alcoholic who takes anti-depressants, and smokes cigarettes every day.
