My tag on my car expired last month so I haven't been driving it. Its been in front of my house because I couldn't afford to buy a new tag yet. So they decided to write me a ticket for having an expired tag, they said that if I get a new tag in the next 2 weeks I won't have to pay the ticket. What they don't know is because it will still count against me in the dmv. It will also cost me well over $550 on top of the price of the tag and make me go through a shit load more stress and hassle. It makes it harder for me to begin getting my life back on the right track.

I seriously hate most cops. All I have ever seen them do is steal from people and throw people in cages for no good reason just so they can steal as much money from our citizens as they can, so that they can afford new $50,000 cars each year. Not once in my 25 years of life have I ever had a good experience with a cop or seen them do one good thing not once. I have never seen them help people in trouble.

When my house was broken into and robbed. I knew who did it, the police said they couldn't do anything or even file a police report because I didn't have enough serial numbers for the things that were stolen(hmm maybe because they are gone!). The cop walked in and saw our window was broken in and all of our house destroyed and everything of value taken and said yeah "someone definitely broke in and took your stuff, but there is nothing we can do" because we only had 3 serial numbers for stuff that was stolen. The only serial numbers we had was for one for a PS3, one Wii. and one XBOX 360. even though $5000 worth of stuff was stolen.

I knew exactly who did it and gave them the thieves info, address, and what they drive as well as everything else about them. The cops said they couldn't even file a police report or do anything about it unless we had more serial numbers and pictures for the items stolen. They told us if we found all the stuff that was stolen they might be able to help us get it back, and then MAYBE start an investigation. 2 months later when I found some of the stuff that was stolen I called and let the cops know and they said "they couldn't do anything about it because no report was filed". I swear all cops are all power hungry who were bullied their entire lives and this is there only way to get back at people.

They go around shooting unarmed people because they can, or rape people on duty because they think they can get away with. It is disgusting what the police force is now! People used to looked up to them and were proud to see them and felt protected to have them around their community to help keep everyone safe.... BUT NOW anytime someone sees a cop on the road they cringe and have a mild anxiety attack because they know they can get a ticket for anything especially if it's at the end of the month when they are trying to fill their quota. Now when people see cops while driving by they drive unsafely because they immediately panic to make sure everyones seat belts on, that they haven't made an illegal lane change or have a plate light out, or that they are not driving perfectly with in the lines because god forbid you aren't a robot and accidentally drive on the white line, or driving 7 over the speed limit because they have cruise control on and are going down hill. Everyone fears cops instead of respects them and they are feared because they are thieves who can get away with anything even murder!

All they do is put innocent people in cages like animals for doing nothing wrong, or for doing something that the cop pulling them over has personally done multiple times without any type of recourse because they are the law and they don't have to abide by them. They have to steal from as many people as possible so that they can get a brand new $40000 car each year by stealing from people who made a tiny accidental mistake like improper start from stop, ignoring traffic signs, illegal turn, or following to closely in stand still traffic(all of these I have been personally ticketed for and been given $150-$300 tickets for but I have never gotten a speeding ticket) Now these people can't pay to buy their kids diapers, or feed themselves or the family.

It is disgusting what this country has turned into. A police state where militarized police run the streets to keep everyone in fear instead of catching violent offenders, or using their time to catch murders, rapists, thieves, and pedophiles who get to run rampant because the cops are to busy stealing from hard-working families who made simple, accidental, mistakes because they weren't paying attention to a speed trap. So when the speed limit changes they were going a few miles over which in no way puts anyone at risk.

When are we going to stop letting these bullies live above the law while they persecute and ruin peoples lives for committing victimless non-violent crimes? Who are then throw in a cage like an animal, stripped of their civil rights, made so they can't support there family or feed there children all because the cops need brand new equipment each year even though all the equipment they had before was in 100% working order and was more environmentally friendly and had better gas milage making it cheaper on the US citizens.

The only reason people call the cops is because it is illegal to take matters into our own hands. When someone rapes your daughter or loved one if you go and beat them up like they deserve you get arrested and put in prison where you can no longer support your family, you lose your job, house, car, family, and everything else you worked for because you took justice into your own hands because cops are to busy making status quos and stealing form normal citizens. Now you've lost everything because you are stuck in a cage like an animal where all of your civil rights are tossed out the window.

THE PRISON POPULATION HAS RISEN WELL OVER 400%!!! OVER THE LAST 3 DECADES EVEN THOUGH CRIME RATES IN ALL AREAS HAVE GONE **DOWN** SIGNIFICANTLY. IN 1980 WE HAD UNDER 330,000 PEOPLE INCARCERATED NOW WE HAVE OVER ****2,500,000!!** PEOPLE IN PRISON EVEN THOUGH CRIME RATES HAVE GONE DOWN!!!!

All because prisons are ran by private companies for profit now instead of by the government. Private Prison companies PROFIT an average of ******$5,000,000,000***** each year in just PROGIT. Even though tax payers have to pay a huge amount of taxes to keep prisons up and running. Where does that make sense in any world or by any standard. We don't help these people we have more prisoners in our country than ANY other country in the world by far. If you were to put those numbers in to percentages by population we have over 10x as many people as China does in prison and on average 8x as many people in prison than any other country based on population alone. So say this country has 10,000 in there country and have 1000 people in prison that means that the United States has 8,000 people in prison comparatively.

It is preposterous especially when you considering that we are paying with our tax money to warehouse these people and that these corporations are profiting $5,000,000,000 each year off us keeping these people in prison. Pretty sure if Donald trump was the President that we could easily be classified as 1930-1950s Germany. I mean honestly the next step in his agenda is to add more time to these people and not let them out or just kill them like Hitler killed the jews to get rid of the bad breed. This is a sick world we live in and not enough people realize what is going on. 1 out of 4 children growing up in school has a close relative in prison today.

Even though crime rates have gone down significantly over the last 40 years we have 2,200,000 more people than we did 40 years ago. Where and HOW does that make sense? End this money wasting drug war, get people who need it rehabilitation and put the actual offenders who need to be in there in there . How hard of a concept is that???They are no longer used to rehabilitate people they are used to teach people to be better criminals and keep them in there for as long as possible just so that they can make even more money because they make money from our tax dollars because the government pays them for each inmate they have instead of it being a government ran facility where no profit is made and they have common sense and programs in place to lower the recidivism rate.

Most of these prisoners will be getting out one day! Why are we not giving them job skills instead of having them working in factories so that these huge corporations can make more money off the prisoners because they can have a work force that they pay $0.08 cents an hour. How hard would it be to give them programs to lower the recidivism rate, give them trades so that they have a chance to get a job when they get out, or drug rehabilitation programs so that they can get out of jail and live productive sober lives when they are released. the truth is is that these corporations that own prisons don't want the people who are released to succeed because if they have skills or anything preparing them to succeed on the outside they won't reoffend and won't come back making those companies more money.

The government pays each prison a set amount for each prison they have incarcerated in their facility and it is usually twice the amount that they need to actually house and feed the prisoners so they make money by having people incarcerated and the more people incarcerated the more money they make. That is why they lobby both the democratic and republican party to have tough on crime policies and policies that require longer sentences for offenders. That is why 50% of inmates in federal custody are in there for non-violent crimes!

There are thousands of studies proving that rehabilitation works 100x times more than incarceration in every way! People who are thrown in prison when they get out are felons, who have strict guidelines making almost impossible not to violate parole and go straight back to prison. If they decided to go the way that works which is to give these people rehabilitation instead of incarceration these people could become productive members of society who aren't barred from getting housing, employment, respect, and a chance at getting jobs. They are helped to deal with the problems that lead them to prison in the first place instead of repeating the cycle and putting them in a prison which makes it 1000x harder for them to get out and be productive. They have no skills or trades that would help them get jobs or maintain them all they know is drugs and that is what they go back to because they can't get housing or employment because of their felonies. They have not been helped at all with what started the whole thing.

It is stupid to lock up non-violent drug offenders and all it does is make there lives 2x as hard making them 4x as likely to go back to drugs and go back to prison. It has been proven time and time again that rehabilitation is way more cost-efficient is a way more successful idea to give these people the chance that they deserve to be successful citizens instead of reoffenders. What other alternative can we expect? Locking someone in a cage with criminals who will teach them better ways to get a way with crimes and introducing them with criminals so that they have more people to contact and do crimes with. It is LUDICROUS!

I got a $800 Ticket for parking my car in front of my house. It's tag isn't up to date which is a bullshit racket in itself which doesnt help to make roads safer. it only helps to keep rich people in power so they can make more money. The cop said that each day it's parked in front of my house it is another $75-$150 ticket on top of the $800+ I will have to pay it all off if I don't want to goto prison and this will continue until i update my tag.... the reason its in front of my house and not being driven around is because I have been taking the bus to work so that I can be able to afford a new tag! But sense its on a public road in front of my house since I dont have a garage to put it in. I will be charged at least one ticket per day until they tow it or incarcerate me until I can pay all fines(its pretty hard to pay fines and make money in a jail cell). Which means they are going to take my license away now!

So I can choose to pay the ticket with money I don't have and then not pay my rent and become homeless.... but here in Denver it is a crime to be homeless so if I am caught being homeless I will be fined and imprisoned. making it harder for me to pay all of this bullshit off and sense I will have a criminal record from all of this. It WILL be damn near impossible for me to find a job! or house! I will no longer be able to get school loans to finish college and set myself and my future up so that maybe some day in the future I will be able to make enough money to pay for all this bullshit because I will have a criminal record. I also cant have a gun or any 4th amendment rights because of all this criminal record. I wont be able to vote, have a gun, get employment, get housing, along with the million other things that makes it so hard for people who were convicted of bullshit crimes to get. Which is awful because they usually only charge the poor, the minorities, and the people who truly need are help with these crimes basically ruining any chance these wonderful folks had for a future.

Welcome to america Home of the FREE (RICH WHITE PEOPLE) and peril and demise for everyone else unless they have a relative that is RICH OR WHITE or a cop or a government official who can get them off crimes like they do because they protect their own of course! so unless you have people in your family that are rich, cops, white, in the government, then you are pretty much fucked! so dont be mad at all the people who hate americans they kinda have a right too sense we have been fucking with them for the past 3000 years in one way or another. 9/10 god awful horrible things that these radicalists did where provoked by americans who in most cases did something much worse.

I'm pretty sure the cops were lying to you.  They can file a report about anything and everything.  A lady could walk on my grass and I could call the police and get a (useless) police report filed.  They likely didn't want to do the paperwork, and figured you were too poor to care or do anything about it.


If you mentioned insurance, or were someone who they were interested in solving the crime for then you would have gotten more play.  They didn't want to have to do the paperwork.


I personally think that race has less to do with it then most people.  I think it is much more socio-economic and police making generalizations about people. Dividing people in their heads into criminals and victims makes it difficult for them to see that the lines can blur.  One person can be a criminal in one situation and a victim in another.  Being a drug user or poor doesn't mean that anyone's problems should be taken less seriously.


I think the increasingly violent society we live in complicates it too.  The thin blue line and the hero complex makes some of these guys feel like the defenders of the good.  Anyone that stands against them or is a suspect is part of the bad guys and that opens them up to actions they wouldn't take on joe traffic stop.  Pretty sad, and really a problem that is difficult to solve.  I think the solutions lie well beyond the police, and that the problem is much more representative of the problems in our world today.

At the end of the day your right z, unfortunately the people are to blame for a bigger portion i think. If we would stop electing people who are owned and paid by corporations who profit off incarcerating people, and blatantly stealing from us under the premise of protecting us. The cops are the blind enforcers of it and a lot of them take their power trip way to far, it is the politicians that we elect who are creating all of these pointless rules which go after people committing victimless cries and turning the US in to a police state where they target the poor.

Sure the police take shit way to far by arresting people for doing something they have done or do frequently that isn't endangering anyone at all, as well as shoot innocent people, and steal just because they can. It is still us who elect the people who allow and encourage them to do this. They now have impunity basically to do whatever they want and bend the rules to suit their agenda. It is us who allowed this all to take place and get to what it is now.

Hopefully someday we are all treated the same, and victimless crimes that don't endanger anyone aren't robbed or prosecuted and less people are caged like animals because they made a mistake or didn't know they were committing a crime.

I do hope that they stop the drug war and lobbying so that the government will stop creating and enforcing laws that target and victimize the poor so that the people paying them can make even more money and spread the wealth gap further. So that police aren't put in this position where they have to write tickets to fill a quota so that they can steal as much money from us as possible.

It's so dumb that if someone can't pay for their tag and don't have private property to store their car while they save up they have to pay the govt. $75. It is like oh you don't have money okay we are going to take money from you because you are poor. The tickets they write are just ridiculous and I don't see how it is any different from armed robbery or kidnapping and false imprisonment if you can't come up with the money they are taking from you.

It is one thing to use that as a tool to fund people who are the victims of crimes and to create safer roads. So they can deter someone from driving extremely fast that is endangering other people but the improper start from stop ticket I got on a gravel road, speed traps, and DUI for taking medication the day before that is robbery.  It is them abusing their power, and we shouldn't be afraid of cops, they should be revered. The majority have tainted the pool and the good cops who let that go on are part of the problem.

When the average person in the US commits 3 felonies a day unknowingly and the cops pick and choose who, when, and how they want to enforce them there is something drastically wrong. They should be held up to a very high standard, and they aren't because they have the power because they are making money for the rich people. It sucks that you can't call them for help because you might get arrested or robbed even though you haven't endangered anyone. And that we now have to constantly prove our innocence because it's war to them.

You can't defend yourself or your home anymore with out fear of being incarcerated, plus the cops just break into peoples houses with guns pointed at everyone because they might have weed. I saw a story last night of a guy getting attempted murder and a few other charges after he got jumped by 4 people and one of the guys who jumped him had a knife and he got it away from him and stabbed one of the guys.

How many people have to die or be caged before we stop it. The blame definitely does trickle down and they are the face of a lot of the corruption within our government and do catch a lot of shit, but there are just to few good ones who are standing up for whats right to not deserve it.

It sucks that so many people think that we should just gun down and give everyone the death penalty for having different beliefs than we do and that we continually elect the people who are making it this way. Being a cop should be something awesome and they should be looked at as hero's for protecting us but that isn't how things are anymore. I know they are just doing their job and some of them got in it for the right reasons but how can they blindly enforce these idiotic laws to the point of killing, robbing, or caging someone them because he grows weed.

I understand why it is like this and who is behind all of that deserving the most blame but I tend to group them all together as people who suck. It starts with these people so greedy that they are willing to go to whatever lengths to profit. They are willing to rip people from their families, target the mentally ill, or people who cant defend themselves, put them in a cage for their whole life, and watch people die because of it just so they can make money, keeping the cash cow alive with full prisons, asset forfeitures, and fines for being poor or homeless.

It probably was the cops and the people at the station I called after being robbed who were lying about not being able to make a report. Coming in and said that sucks you guys sure did get robbed sorry we can't do anything for you. When I found some of my stuff a few weeks later that I could link to them at a pawnshop they said they couldn't do anything about it because there was no report filed. They would probably be kicking down peoples doors and shooting their dog if it happened at their house.

We were trying to file it with our home owners insurance but since we didn't have a police report they said they couldn't help us either. I also told them that the people who stole it, definitely have drugs and a gun on them at all times and they didn't care. They probably thought it would be more work and cost more money then it would make for them and decided against it.

As far as it being a race thing, african americans get charged with 10x as many arrests for drugs then white people. From my experience white people use more drugs, it does have to do with police racism, stereotyping as well as  socio economic reasons. White people probably make more money so that means they will get arrested less and the times they do they will have a way better shot at getting off of it.

 I also believe that poverty leads to a lot of arrests as well because they can't afford college so they might be more likely to turn to crime, and stuff like that. I am sure that police target poor people at a much higher rate because they are more likely to get a conviction and more charges to stick, as well as keep them in jail longer, which all leads to more money for them.

Having many family members in law enforcement (Regular cops to detectives and chief of police) I may be or be seen as biased, but I have also dealt with them a lot more then most people in tons of ways. Take my opinion for what you want but cops are just regular people. There are amazing ones and horrible ones and everywhere inbetween. I've had a horrible State Trooper pull me over and treat me like shit trying to find any reason possible to give me a ticket and I've had a totally awesome cop pull me over for a U-turn and I was visibly stoned while smoking a blunt and laughed and talked about golf with me for 15minutes (saw golf clubs in back of truck) then told me to go straight home safely and let me one my way. How your treated has a lot to do with how you present yourself. Their humans like us so they use their judgement. If you look presentable and are respectful (Yes sir, no sir) then you usually have no problems and it's down to business. They see people like us everydayyyy in usually their worst situations etc. so they don't want bullshit and if your an asshole then they will keep writing their tickets. How good a police force is is just like anywhere else. It all lies on the chief and the people in charge doing their part on educating and looking over their officers. There are bad apples everywhere and they sure as hell shouldn't be cops buttttt we live in the real world. It's very easy for a fuckoff to become a cop (life is really who you know) and we need to crack down on it: if your becoming a cop you need to be thoroughly looked at in every way shape and form. I agree that it's unacceptable to have some of the fuckers wearing the badge but don't FORGET about the good cops. Their out there believe it or not. A lot of them, and you don't hear it because their along their job. You just hear about the bad ones because of media and smartphones everywhere.

Being able to treat them the right way also goes along with affluence and a higher socio-economic status.  Poor education goes along with being lower class.  Poor education results in less ability to talk clearly and treat the cops the way they want you to act.  Many of these people speak in a specific way, and aren't able to change their way of speaking and acting as readily as someone with more education, higher iq and higher class standing.  They might not even understand that acting in a certain way will have a different efect on the way they are treated by other people.


It is a problem that compounds itself.  The cycle continues from generation to generation.


I didn't mean to say that race plays no part in it Griffin.  Just that it is more complicated then simply black=bad.  Great post by the way. You took the time to say some things that are dear to me, and tell some very inconvenient truths.

For my school appeal I really hope it gets approved, school starts on the 20th. After I turned the first appeal in that said that I had to bring documentation showing I went to oklahoma(when I got arrested=didnt make it to okla) so all i got was a letter from a few people saying I was their and what dates. I am hoping that is good enough since the story is was that It was march and I drove and stayed with family due to medical issues. i am going to see if anyones gotta a receipt or something from then or bank statement. Hopefull that covers thatSince I never 'drove' there and got arrested instead its the best I have.

I also had to bring  in a statement from work saying that I had a flexible schedule. The statement was me saying I get to make my own schedule and how many hours I need to work to manage bills, and that i would be taking the first few weeks so i would know how many hours i needed for school.

I brought the documents in early last week and it finally went from being received to being reviewed today so hopefully i know if i am going to be approved soon its driving me crazy! Hopefully it does so i can get my books, and everything, they better say yes. I am nervous because I just found I can lost my aid for a year from my charges if they catch it. I have a lot riding on e getting approved.

If I don't i am financially fucked and have no idea what i am going to do. However if I do get to goto school again then all my financial problems are over 100%, for now no more worrying about rent, getting my car fixed, paying off my debt, building my credit, paying all my fines and probation so they will let me off as early as april. More importantly I would be able to do 4 year colleges where I want, have my degree this year, and never have to worry about money stresses while i am finishing school.

During school I am going to learn how to weld and scuba dive. I am going to do weed jobs to learn how to grow perfect, make extracts and edibles, run a business, Build and run huge factory grow houses and everything in them like all the hvac, hyrdo systems, and electrical and all of the construction behind being able to build every single thing and learn all the management and real estate i can.

Then my business will find people who want to start a dispensary, grow factory, home grow, grow house, extracts or edible company, or a little of everything and build everything for them and teach his people and start the company for him and do consults make 40k a job be able to do 3-8 a year if not more. When I can afford it I am going to see if it would be profitable to start my own place like that.

Every time a new state legalizes it, I can go a year or 2 before it starts and help all the rich people who want to be the first to have a dispensary or grow factory or whatever, and at the same time I would be the one doing all of the weed warehouse real estate buying and selling because I was their first and bought them before they tripled in price cus all the pot heads.

I'd like to start my I can start my own dispensary, grow factory, edible line, and commercial warehouse real estate companies in each new state and just be the first there in each one. Sell each of the warehouse businesses for a few mill each after I've flipped enough warehouses to make a lot of money. Then try to build it out as much as possible have places in states all across the country

 my dream would be to hopefully be able to leave everyone in my family a dispensary, and a grow factory, across the US or if they didn't want it they could choose the money its worth so the ones who want one, get one and they can try and see how it goes or sell it if they dont like it, I am hoping to make like 20 million plus my have a business for each family member and giving it all to them, that would be dream, i may just join the sinoloa an starting buying by the key.

This is something that happened here this past summer. I'm sure you'll find it interesting, yet also disturbing, Griffin.

Basically a University of Cincinnati Police Officer stopped a man, and ended up shooting him in the head when the man resisted. The officer later lied, was caught lying bc of the mandatory (for UC) use of a body camera, and was subsequently indicted for murder. I thought the city would erupt in chaos and violence like it did in 2001 when another white officer shot and killed another black guy. But that didn't happen. The county prosecutor said this is a fucking stupid tragedy that didn't have to happen, and that this is a clear case of murder. It'll be interesting to see if this officer is actually convicted. If he's not, I'm betting there will be mass protests here.

I'm not entirely sure of the differences, but there is some overlap between the University of Cincinnati police force and the regular Cincinnati police force. They both carry guns, have arresting powers, help each other out, etc.

I was reading about Canada and legalization of weed the other day.  Everybody that supported legalization voted for Trudeau here, but they got a bit of surprise when they forgot he was a neo-lib.  People seemed to expect that they would just say ok, have at it.  They forgot how much of a corporate whore the liberal party here is. 


Basically they have replaced the system where patients could grow their own with a system relying on companies called "licensed producers." Places like Tweed Inc: http://www.tweed.com Tellingly the boss of the largest one was heavily involved in the trudeau campaign.  Chief financial advisor I believe.  The dispensaries have expected to get in on the ground floor, and we even have people opening up new ones hoping to get in on the business.  Not so fast guys, Trudeau just authorized a string of raids on pot dispensaries.  You don't meet his vision of how this will all go down.  He is saying very clearly that grey market distribution isn't going to be tolerated, and really what else did they expect? 


So what is it?  Legalization or not?  It seems like Trudeau wants to lealize, but he only wants his friends to get in on the estimated minimum 5 billion dollar industry.  Apparently their flowers are horrible.  They grind it like coffee, don't flush them properly, and the curing is lacking to non-existant.  You have to order it through the mail right now.  I saw pictures of one place with stretchy, sad looking plants.


So now the whole movement of people that voted for legalization under Trudeau are mad at the guy.  That didn't take long, but he doesn't care.  He already got elected, and the fault lies with the people who didn't think it through. Of COURSE he would do it this way.  What did they expect? That he would just say, "Have at it.  Overgrow the government?"  Aparently.
