Been watching this lately.

Brings back some good memories. I grew up during the time Iggy Pop was starting out. Saw him live twice at the Michigan Palace in 72...

To me these were the good ole days. MC5, revolution in the air but everyone was taken acid!

Probably not the typical fare for these parts of the Web, but very typical for the landfill of great and not so great, and some downright terrible music buried permanently in my brain. To those not in the know, all the chinese joints in Philly sell "homemade" (powdered concentrate) iced tea and lemonaide in those plastic soup containers. So yeah you poke a hole in the top and throw a straw in that shit and it's like a big gulp!

(An Aussie band who are totally great. Just discovered them about a week ago. Record came out 2011)

"post punk" or so they say. I just say good ol' rock n' roll.

"One More Tonight," which begins at 6:17, has some serious Bauhaus overtones, and the next track that it leads into (no break) is totally weird yet awesome.

"Carpet Rash," which begins at 15:53 is highly recommended. "eating your breakfast in shower stalls"

Please give it a listen. Especially all you freaks, like _Enduser, Hero1, Nark, Skrammame, and you know who else the fuck y'all are. You won't regret it.

I will admit to being filled with a sense of overwhelming schadenfreude when I googled her name and the second result was "Iggy Azalea's career is over".

Her complete ignorance over what is simply flat out cultural appropriation, her vocal "black face" (why not rap in her Aussie accent?), her dismissal of people like Q-Tip who have tried to engage her civilly in a discussion about why she needs to check her privilege... yeah, she shits me.

FWIW we do have some amazing rappers here in Oz; this is Seth Sentry who is from Melbourne, and he doesn't need to put on a fake accent;
