there is some confusion around Buddies and probably some bugs too so i raised this bug report: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=538971.msg3830505#msg3830505

and they said. amogst other things, "in SMF 2.0 by default there is no invite system for buddies"

so now i'm curious as to why this works for some but not all.

I don't remember installing a mod that affects buddies to please list HOW you tried to make buddies and WHAT problems you are now having.

I hit the little link under the members avatar/name (above the "send this member a message" link). I've gotten messages back that say "yay we're friends now" etc PM back from members, so I don't know why it's not working.

I don't know squat about bugs etc, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question, but is there a way to bypass this "default"?

i will try to learn shoutbox but I'm on a cell (so it's slow) & didn't want to annoy anyone whose used to quicker replies

some mod, that i don't know, added this and i can't figure out what.

i have closed the support ticket as they cannot help with mods.

i will leave this open for a while yet.

I am soooo lost on here so I am not sure if this is in the appropriate place.

I had a buddy request (2 actually...ain't I the popular one! lol) It says"click here to accept request".  I click and it leads me to the buddy screen....where one has been in the pending column for days and the other one is no where to be found!  Help...lost....so lost.......

Also, I know this isn't the spot just just wanted to add a major thank you to Nick, Chipper and Candy and anyone else responsible for making this happen! love to you all!

pending must mean waiting for their approval.

I'm a bit puzzled about the whole buddy thing.
