Scopolamine - World's Scariest Drug
« on: July 02, 2016, 04:15:04 PM »
with thanks to @DeadCat, this is very interesting, informative and scary.

ScopolamineWiki

an extract on it's criminal application: The drug is known to produce loss of memory of events recently before exposure and sleepiness, similar to the effect of benzodiazepines or alcohol poisoning, which affects the ability of a person to resist crime. A travel advisory published by the United States Department of State in 2012 stated:

One common and particularly dangerous method that criminals use in order to rob a victim is through the use of drugs. The most common [in Colombia] has been scopolamine. Unofficial estimates put the number of annual scopolamine incidents in Colombia at approximately 50,000. Scopolamine can render a victim unconscious for 24 hours or more. In large doses, it can cause respiratory failure and death. It is most often administered in liquid or powder form in foods and beverages. The majority of these incidents occur in night clubs and bars, and usually men, perceived to be wealthy, are targeted by young, attractive women. To avoid becoming a victim of scopolamine, one should never accept food or beverages offered by strangers or new acquaintances or leave food or beverages unattended. Victims of scopolamine or other drugs should seek immediate medical attention.

I can't stream anything but i remember reading a story about a drug in Columbia that leaves one totally powerless to suggestion.  Like someone doses you & you help them put everything in your apartment into their van & wave them a happy goodbye.  Is this that stuff?

yes (and more) ... it's also very easy to dose someone - they can just sniff or inhale the powder (a chemical extract) without them even knowing what happened and in passing.

you can buy a gram of the refined powder for 60 pesos in South America if you know where to look - but why would any decent and sane person want to use such a drug ?!

I first read this and thought why not its pretty fun(if by fun you like to be blacked out for 3 days- a week waking up in some weird places around the house doing some pretty weird things) and you get some mad whacked out day dreams, then again i missed the bit where you said " decent and sane" . but If you have a mega downer tolorance, its not that bad... Actually they have it as a motion sickness tablet called hyoscine lol its like having g, rohypnol and halperidol for the first time with no tolorance but all in one super pill thats about the size of a valium

if I had a trusted sitter and knew the right dose I still wouldn't want to try it because it does not sound like fun.

I have had enough acid anyway ... I don't like that full-on tripping feeling nowadays.

I wonder if anybody here is tempted to sample a tiny bit ?
