Smite: Reputation Power: Applause: Reputation and QUESTIONS !!!
« on: September 12, 2015, 01:46:39 PM »
Quick question:

I know you've recently changed the: Applause, Smite, Reputation, and Reputation Power algorithms, but I do not understand what is happening.

I've noticed that my "Applause" has gone down considerably from what it was, to something called "Reputation Power" and that's a measly 4 points right now.

I look at my profile, and it says I gots me a Reputation of 230 Points.

How does your "Reputation Power" Algorithm work?

Apparently, one can take their "Reputation Points" and divide by 57.5, to get their "Reputation Power."

So for me, you take 230 / 57.5 and you get 4.

Where in the world did you get this number 57.5??  Could you not have used a whole number?

Can we choose which reputation number is displayed along side our Avatars?  Or maybe even display both "RepPow" and "RepPoints"?

That would be cool.

Maybe if our total RepPoints could, like FLASH, or crawl across the screen??

Ex:

230 ! !              230 ! !                230 ! !
230 ! !              230 ! !                230 ! !
230 ! !              230 ! !                230 ! !

I'm sure you already know this, but this is how I understand it:

50 points = 1 power.  Chipper said when he started this new system, everyone started off with 100 points, which is 2 rep power.

500 points = one bar (the green bar under the rep power).  So when someone gets 1000 points, they get 2 bars; 1500 points, 3 bars, etc.

So in theory, someone with 2500 points would have 50 rep power, 5 bars.

That's all I know.  Sorry I can't tell you more.  Hopefully Chipper will answer you soon.   :)

also, Opiophile didn't display rep power, only bars ... but we do display rep power and it's a little bit confusing at first.

you also knew how many points you had, like us.

thanks, Nark !

Yes.  On the top menu bar, click on Profile.  Then on the main profile page, click on the far left menu and at the very bottom click "view reputation."  It'll show you all the rep you've received since the new system was implemented.  It will also show who sent you the rep.  And it will list any messages they left with the rep.

Help.

I thought the reputation system was fixed so we can give rep more often than every hour if we give it to a different member.

Just tried to give two different people rep for two different posts and it told me I need to wait one hour between reputation actions or something like that.

If this is still the way it is working, it's rather dumb (imho), because if I get online and have say, only 20 minutes to spend on the internet I may want to give positive feedback/rep to more than one person.  Right?

Thanks admins and mods for all you do this isn't a crisis but would be nice if fixed.

I don't always give rep...
But when I do
I want to give it to a whole bunch of different people in a two minute period. Or whatever.

Also it's timing out A LOT more than it used tool

i DID reset it to 0 wait time but somehow it reset back (or maybe i forgot to save it ?) ... i have made the following changes:

Set wait time in hours = 0

How many people does a user have to give reputation to before they can repeat a person? = 2

How many times a day can a person give reputation? = 10

review my settings, try again soon and report back please. if you need someone to give rep to then look for regular-users or regular-mods as they are test users.

there must be a bug there as i had to SAVE the settings twice (?). buggy software, actually. but i have checked the new settings and they're holding.
