Immune to GABA tolerance?
« on: December 11, 2015, 11:33:32 PM »
OK each day I take (3) 10mg diazepam also every day I take 3.5g of Phenibut.

I also take around 1200 to 1500 mg of gabapentin. I drink about 4 alcoholic beverages that are 8% alcohol by volume that are at least 24 ounces each. I also take L-Theanine which helps produce GABA.  Now to see if I was actually addicted to GABANERGIC's i stopped taking the Phenibut (which i had been on daily for 3.5 months. I only go to the doctor to get valium and gabapentin once every 2 months do to price.)

So i go 3-4 weeks with nothing but booze at my disposal and i still don't get these crazy withdrawals people say are worse then dope. I've been doing this for quite some time. The only time I actually do get GABA w/d is if I drink a ton of liquor and wake up shakey. Why don't I experience the horrible symptoms others describe. I'm glad I don't have them but damn. seizures, convulsions, etc. i guess im lucky.... So far. 👤

Diazepam has a lot of active metabolites and a really long halflife. Ithe took about 10 days before I went into withdrawal using clonazepam and it's half life isn't as long as valium. Plus the booze probably helps.

Well if you're still drinking while off the 'but and benzos I'd think you wouldn't get wds.

I'm not positive on that but I wouldn't say you're "immune".

How long you been drinking?

Booze and benzos are definitely cross tolerant, it's like codeine and morphine or similar.

I'm not sure about Phenibut, from what I know about that stuff it's mostly a gaba-b agonist and not so much gaba-a which is what the former target. I had some weird experiences with Phenibut while in benzo/alky wd, just bizarre distortions of reality. When I fucked with phenibut I always took these really big 7-10+ gram dosages, and I think it was maybe a little too much..

That's what I'd call... A High Class Problem.

Can we trade brains???

But, for what it's worth. Valium is gonna keep you outta the woods for a good long bit. That's why it's indicated for wd in the Ashton Manual.

Plus you're boozing it up on the daily.... I drink when I'm cornered. No pills in sight. I am admittedly what you would call "An Ugly Drunk", but I've only had ONE bad Benzo blackout.

I try to stay away from the alcohol... Been doing two to three of them airline bottles of vodka with OJ before bed a lot lately.

Been reducing my xanax intake... Down from 6 mg daily two years ago, to one half mg daily.... But to jump off with xanax seems un'doable.

So I drink to get some sleep.

Gotta get a handle on it.

Quick.

When you take gabapentin, are you taking enough to get the buzz? If so how long does yours last? Sometimes mine lasts only 11 hours or so. One time I'm over did it, and it was the day the cops came for me for old fines. I was in County for 2 days and I was FUCKED up the entire time from the gabapentin. An old timer had to prop me up so I didn't fall into the people sleeping on the floor.

You know what they serve in there? Only peanut butter sandwiches... it's so dry. You ever try to swallow a wad of peanut butter and bread with limited motor control?  It's not pretty.

I just got really lucky and found a bottle of 24 (10mg) baclofen. I took ONE along with 1800mg of Gabapentin, and 1.2g of Phenibut. I was drinking too. Talk about fucked up. I also have Valium and librium. I was stumbling and at home so it was great.

I also think that i am tolerant to the tolerance of GABAergics and have never experienced any physical or psychological withdrawal effects.

So far, so good.

I use sane doses of benzos and gabapentinoids but have been drinking a bottle of sherry a day for months. Got to stop that.

Chops is right, alcohol has cross tolerance with many GABAergics.
