So, here is my dilemma.  I need to concoct a urine sample that is positive for fentanyl (Duragesic) and nothing else.  The first problem I have is I am on methadone through a clinic and I do not want this new doctor I am seeing to know that fact.  My brand new rheumatologist wrote me a duragesic script without drug testing me.  I want to keep getting the patches (thank God the clinic does not test for fent) so I need to be able to give a fent positive urine at my next appointment.

Here come the questions.  Does any one know how they test for fentanyl? Do most test screen for the drug only or are there metabolites of fentanyl in the urine after ingestion?  I have access to clean urine...could I dump a piece of a patch in and let it soak?  Would this work?  I can't find much info on metabolites or fentanyl testing in general.

I can also let my clean person use a patch for a bit buccally and then get a sample.  I am guessing this would be better, but who knows.  How long does it take from initial buccal administration to it spilling into the urine and it popping positive for fentanyl?

Any help/wisdom you can give me would be much appreciated!

If you can get someone to use some of the fent and then give you a sample that is going to be your best bet. As far as how they test I do not know nor am I sure of any metabolites either. I would use your resource that is willing to take it and get a couple samples at different times of the day or days and store them in the freezer for future use.

Hi Lolly-

Fentanyl produces two metabolites (norfentanyl and despropionylfentanyl-

They have to specifically test for it- if you use the fent buccally for at least 12/24 hours-then collect a urine sample -you should have a fent positive specimen.

There have been times I tested negative for fent, even though I do wear (1) Duragesic 100mcg q48h - RELIGOUSLY, for over 5 years now.

This has to do with your specific genetic make-up.

There are correlating enzymes each individual possess to metabolize different drugs according to their specific genetic make-up. This may cause  fent to rapidly leave your system - Due to this, my PM Doc did not worry or even think I was not taking my meds as directed or diverting them to make some cash, LOL!!

I NEED the pain relief too much for that sort of shit!

Good Luck!!  ; )

we live life trying to make a mark. we die looking for a trail left, searching for meaningful ink splattered across buildings, cars and spouses; hoping they are enough to make up for this unremarkable life of going to go to get. eventually we find out the finish line concludes with a large empty pot

You couldn't just dump a patch in piss.  You could give someone a bit of patch in exchange for some piss.  The tricky bit is that they would have to be clean from everything else.  I bet most people who would do that would have dirty urine for something at least.

There is no prescription monitoring where you live I hope?  I'm sure you know best.

Prescription monitoring isn't a problem as she is going through a clinic. Are you sure you will be tested at the gent Doctor? Like everyone says you won't be able to use your piss as they will use a gc/ms to find the debt. It will show the done without a doubt.

Clinics are separate form pharmacies?  That's a funny and lucky loophole.  Here everything gets tied to your health card number that you shhow at every pharmacy and doctor.  Any of them can see your script history with just that one number.

You're going to have to give part of a patch to someone who's clean(and you'd better be sure they're clean) and use their urine.

I thought of doing this But the pharmacy list now gets copies of what was given to you from the clinic so i agree i would be careful. I wish my doc had not taken me off methadone I would give back all these Morphine shits for Methadone anyday but yea i considered returning but have seen it in my records that they list it in pharmacy records even from clinics

Also i agree someone who claims they clean and willing to take the fent for ya you gotta watch i got jammed like that in past

Why give back morphine for methadone? I'm guessing you done shoot? Morphine only has like. 30% oral bioavailability. You should at least put them up your pooper, that way you get 2/3rds of the goodies.

I am in NJ and opioid treatment programs are exempt from being reported to the state prescription monitoring program.  I'm not sure but I think it varies by state.  Does anyone know the specifics of this?  I would look it up, but I had surgery two days ago and I'm feeling like a pile of gaarbage!

I actually think that OTP's should be exempt from reporting to the prescription monitoring database, but not because of my love affair with Duragesic Patches..though it does play a role!

i think they should be exempt because, like it or not, when a doctor sees a patient is on MMT, 9 out of 10 have preconceived junkie notions and I find I no longer get treated as a patient, but as a drug seeker.  I know there are medical professionals with more open attitudes, but I have yet to see them.
