Have you heard the new research that babies born naturally (not by C-section) and are exposed to the vaginal flora (natural bacteria present) develop into much healthier children?


Its basically baby's first dose of colonizing bacteria (good ones) that promote health and keep bad bacteria away.


For those babies that will be delivered by Cesarean section, doctors are recommending that vaginal samples from the mother are collected and swabbed over the baby's face, nose, mouth--even eyes to mimic a natural transit through the birf canal.

Even though I grew up in a medically knowledgeable family, there was still a lot that I learned over the years on my own. I really wish it would have come with an owners manual.

Those of us that were lucky and got taught how to care for them still usually didn't get operating instructions. We had to figure that out on our own.
