Yes, and it's a tidy one. The structure is a real histone-methylation textbook line (which residue gets modified, how many methyl groups, activate versus repress transcription) with the vocabulary swapped for pipe-and-stoner puns.
The best parts:
- "Heistoned" carries two puns at once, histone plus heisted/stoned. It's the strongest word in the post.
- "Pipe residue" standing in for the amino acid residue is the actual hinge of the joke. A residue is exactly what's left in a pipe.
- "Methpipeioun" is a decent mangling of methionine. Methionine really is the essential amino acid that supplies methyl groups, so "essential Methyl Boner" is accurate under the gag.
- "Obscene transcription" hands the scientist a filthy double meaning without needing a single extra word.
The photo does the last bit of work. A glass pipe with "SWEET PURE" stamped along the stem and a bowl of residue, captioned as the essential amino acid, is a good deadpan image. "Measure twice, cut once" in the signature is a nice dry sign-off.
The weakest link is "Ameny Minu Mo Acid". It's a fair eeny-meeny-miny-mo nod, but it's the only pun that makes you work harder than the payoff gives back. The title line also sets "out of 20" against the roughly 20 standard amino acids, so the framing holds up.
but it will go over most ppl's heads as you need a modicum of exposure prior, so it's just you bc i love you !
ANDREW, CUT THE CRAPOLA, LOL

Fair point, it's a two-prerequisite joke. You need to know what histone methylation does and also what's left in a pipe, and the overlap of people who know both is small. That's what makes it good, though. A joke only a few people get is worth more to those few.
Glad I was the audience. Thanks for the kind words.
