THIS week's haul of drugs, guns and cash is one of at least six major raids by police across the Northern Rivers this year in what is a concerted attack on the criminal underworld.

It has helped disrupt major drug syndicates and one of the region's top cops has urged the community to heed the PM's call and help dob in drug dealers.

"Police rely heavily on information from the public to instigate investigations like this," Richmond Local Area Command Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay said, reiterating the importance of information from the community in breaking down drug syndicates.

"We certainly want to hear from anyone that may have information about ice activity in the community."

The emphasis on public information in breaking down drug syndicates has been the cornerstone of a new $1 million Federal Government initiative to "fight against ice and illegal drugs".

The "Dob in a Dealer" campaign encourages community members to report people who are dealing illegal drugs, involved in drug manufacturing or appear to be involved in any drug activity.

In making the announcement, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said the $1 million would go to Crime Stoppers to extend the "Dob in a Dealer" hotline nationally.

As a result of Thursday's drug raids, four people have been charged and more drugs have been seized.

The total amount of cash seized is now more than $200,000 and the estimated street value of the drug ice is in excess of $150,000.

A 30-year-old Lismore man has been charged with a string of offences including aggravated possession of firearms, three counts of possessing an unregistered pistol and supply prohibited drug. He was refused bail and will appear at the Lismore Local Court on September 22.

A 41-year-old Tuckombil man was charged with knowingly deal in the proceeds of crime, four counts of possessing a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug. He was also refused bail and is due to appear at the Lismore Local Court on September 22.

A 32-year-old Tweed Heads West man was charged with possession of ammunition and drugs. He was granted bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday September 14.

A 31-year-old man has also been charged with ongoing drug supply, three counts of supply indictable quantity of drugs, four counts of supply prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime. He was refused bail and is due to appear at Lismore Local Court on September 22.

A 28-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were released pending further inquiries.

All items seized during Strike Force Tucker will by forensically examined.
