What the fuck happened to Eon?
I cant find a thread about it, and I searched. Just little mentions here and there. Maybe I missed it if it was posted on the Phile before it shut down.
Can those who know fill us all in? How did we find out, cause of death, etc?
I really cant believe it. I cared about the guy, he was such an asset so quickly to that forum..

No unfortunately it's true, Eon passed away on July 4 from a PST and/or fent analog OD. His daughter contacted me and told me the bad news a few days ago. She originally didn't want me to tell people because she was afraid his posts would be removed from Opiophile if they found out he was dead, and she finds comfort in reading them. She wanted his writings to have a place to live on forever. I assured her that wasn't going to happen, and asked her permission to post an RIP thread about him, to which she agreed.
Then Opiophile went down so I broke the news in my email group, and we have been discussing some things about it in there. I have been swamped with real life stuff the past week or so, so I haven't gotten around to posting everything I want to about it. I will shortly though, in the email group, here, and hopefully Opiophile if it comes back online. She told me about some of his legendary stories, and also shared some of his last moments with me. If anyone has any condolences or nice things to say about him, hopefully you wouldn't mind if I passed it along to her as she is pregnant, devastated, and is finding great comfort in hearing about what he meant to our community, as she knew how much our community meant to her father.
So yes, our fellow comrade is gone and this one hurts pretty bad. Eon was quite a character, loved life to the fullest, and was a constant optimist. Like I said I'll post more about him in a day or two when I get more time. Everyone be safe out there with those fent analogs, and even PST. Eon's last email to me told me he was taking a few pounds of Freaks with him on a trek for a few days, and we all know how strong they were, and he was also messing with those fent analogs right at the end of his life. He passed shortly after his trek, at a remote job site that he was spending the night at and, and was 3 hours away from the nearest hospital.
Ok I just wanted to confirm the bad news and say to be careful out there, and to have a nice day!

Thanks for the update. For the uneducated... what is a fent analog? Obviously something with fentanyl, but analog?

I'd bet it was Acetyl-Fentanyl; he had been posting about ordering some in the last weeks.

This really hit me hard and I'm so sorry for his family. They were very dear to him, he took much pride in providing and being a great dad, and husband.
His posts were fantastic, I mentioned this in the group email, It was funny, sometimes reading eons posts I felt like I needed a decoder ring but for some magical reason by the end of it I totally picked up what he was putting down and more often than not what he was saying was clever and insightful.
This is a terrible loss and I can't imagine the pain his family is going thru. Rip eon. You were one of kind and you'll be missed greatly.

Bad news. I always liked his character as well.
I feel for his daughter as well. My wife's mom passed away while she was pregnant with our second, and it was very devastating. It cast a real pall over everything for quite a while.
Fent and analogies are dangerous. We don't hear about all of the accidental overdoses for no reason.

Very intelligent and poetic and eloquent poster.
Man this one hit hard... I lost my Dad to suicide (12yrs ago at 13yo)not an OD but both tragic types of incidents. I hope his daughter finds peace and her finding comfort in his posts is a good sign. It was clear he was a great family man.

Another Eon fan here. I loved his posts. Crazy, wild and literate. We started to exchange a few emails. Both independent contractors in the creative field where your last job makes or breaks you. Where you have to deliver ridiculous amounts of work in ridiculous time frames and as one got older, one turned more and more to your old friend drugs to get through the day. To support the family and pay the bills and be a good man. It was a paradox, shoring up an idealist life with a persecuted procedure. Working crazy hours and the only way through was chemical. Also we both had stories of prescient flashes of the future. I sometimes wonder if Eon was seeing what was coming. I sure as shit wouldn't want to.
Anyway, yet another bright light extinguished. The burning ones, the brightest, always seem to flame out first.

I did not know him but i've lost a 70 y/o to what i believe to be drug-induced respiratory depression,
if there's one all too familiar facet of a drug board it's the high mortality rate.
i have created a deceased group should be lose one here.
very sad and often, a pointless loss that's preventable.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I found out. He was a good dude, no question about it.
I loved his rambling and seemingly (until you actually thought about what he was saying) nonsensical posts.
We corresponded via e-mail quite a bit and I miss him dearly now that he's gone.
You never miss your water till your well runs dry.

RIP Eon you will be missed. You were unique, smart and stirred my brain up a little. Your topic about time travel/being a psychic or something involving some sort of painting and a restaurant and shit stuck in my head for weeks.
I will never forget what you said about pain on my user page shortly before you died. "Make friends with pain and you will never be alone" or something really close to that, as I am quoting/phrasing off memory and I fux with benzos. But requiescant en pace Eon, may you have found the oblivion you were searching for.

I am sure this was accidental. Eon was fully invested in changing the world for the better wiith his work and I know he passed that quality on to his daughter who tries to do the same in her own work. He wouldn't quit. He was another casualty of th e"war" on drugs, a war on us, the users.
You did good, man and the changes your efforts brought about will last a good long while.

I can't believe we lost another one. Eon was such an interesting person and I loved all of his posts! His creativity, intelligence and great love for his family was evident in all his posts.
I hope you are feeling nothing but pure joy, free from the pain. See you on the other side, comrade!

Yeah, man...Im having a hard time believing this was anything but an tragic accident. Although none of us were in his head or knew what was going on him besides what he told us, I just can't see his passing as intentional.

Eon and I talked a bit off site a couple months ago. He had messaged me about my forum avatar at the time's phrase- Vires Montesque Vincimus- and we got to talking about his climbing hobby (seemed more like a true lifestyle and absolute passion for him).
Cool old dude, I wish his family and friends nothing but the best.

We realized we had known each other online for something like 17 years, starting with alt.drugs.hard pre google, back when it was on deja.com. He lived in Mammoth Lakes, one of the most beautiful places in the world and a place I have been to a bunch of times and we were planning to meet up if I made it to SF next spring as I'm planning to. I guess that won't happen. I had a bad feeling when he started writing about ordering the fent analogues, those + the freak could put anyone down. RIP my friend, you are very missed.
