Title: stopping by to tell you about my paid research study on LGBTQ+ opioid users
Post by: makita on June 03, 2024, 01:57:35 PM
Hi everyone, it’s been SO long!  I’m doing really well and I hope you all are too.  I just wanted to stop by because I’m consulting on this research study of opioid users who are queer/trans and we need more subjects!  It’s a cool study meant to make a difference, so read on and click the link if you want to sign up.

We* are seeking LGBTQ+ adults for a research study examining the health experiences of queer and trans opioid users. This is the FIRST study of its kind to look at the overlapping marginalization of being LGBTQ+ and taking opioids (whether by prescription or illict/illegal means).

The hope is to eventually present the findings to healthcare providers, in order to reduce stigma and provide better treatment to this population.

Link to sign up, with a brief screening survey:

Participants get up to $20 in Amazon gift card for completing a 60 min survey online.

*For transparency I am paid hourly as a consultant for this study; I do not benefit from whether you sign up or not.  As a pain patient myself, I think it’s important work and can vouch for the harm reductionist, anti-drug war approach of the researchers.
