Would you give your depressed and old dad some Meth ?
« on: July 16, 2016, 08:08:19 PM »
well, every day I visit my dad tells me that he wants to die but I don't really believe him.

since he is in his 90's should I give him 10 mg. Meth. ?
I hear that drugs like Olanzapine can help.

I obviously don't want to hurt him but maybe it's time for doctor Chipper to prescribe some meds that will change his perspective ?

Would a tiny amount of methamphetamine hurt him ?

If you gave it to him, would you tell him?

I don't think 10mg would hurt him, physically, but more than that might be a bit too much stress on his old ticker.

But the real damage you could do would be the soul-crushing depression on the comedown from that shit. Sure, he'd feel great while the drug was working, but when it wore off he'd be below his previous level which was pretty low to begin with. Dig?

So, to answer your question, NO.

Once I gave a small amount (less than 10mg) of 2C-E to my then-wife. I slipped it into a diet Coke she was drinking. She got really mad for no reason when it kicked in. She never found out that I had slipped an RC hallucinogen on her, but I remember that reaction. Boy was that weird! All the sudden, she was enraged, yelling insults and shit going crazy! Lasted for about 2 hours like that, then she calmed down.

I was expecting a hypersexual response from her, but I did not get one...

If you slipped the meth to your old man unbeknownst to him, he might get a similar "rage" reaction. Which, oddly enough, was studied in animals back in the 1950's. Cats were known to have a "sham rage" reaction to hallucinogens. I observed this firsthand once in college, before I had ever read about it.

My friends and I thought it would be a hoot to dose a nice, affectionate female kitten with like 1/4 of a tab of some good LSD.
The poor cat went fucking bonkers, biting and scratching anything that came close to her, even inanimate objects.

she hid out under a sofa for about 8 hours, and then was totally fine the next day.

NO.

But I totally understand the impulse. You see him in physical and emotional pain and you know one thing that makes YOU  see the world in a better light but when you get high you know what's going on and have better control. FOr someone prepared he could be terrified.

Plus, meth on a heart condition? That sounds life threatening and could go very badly for him, anyone who cares about him and might even get you jail time. Say it doesn't trigger a heart attack or stroke but he panics and in order to soothe him you tell him what you did, it is discovered by staff, they drug test him and you are the lead story on the news because EVERBODY KNOWS drug users are evil people.

The hospital/hospice has any number of drugs they can give him to ease his pain and lift his spirits. Push for them to make this more bearable for him. It is their job and moral duty to ease suffering.

I know you guys are right so I am making sure he is eating and getting mobile with a walker instead.

I want him home asap because he is a very fit gut who I won't let get down.

He has a pacemaker so I just realised that would make it potentially dangerous.

WTF was I thinking ? I have been desperate and using my old tricks for happiness.

You guys are great !

If If you're really determined to get him high
In a way that that could POSSIBLY be good for his mental state
Why not 1.2g of psilocybin mushrooms?

TTA, impossible at my location and the time of year.

Ideally i'd give him 10 mg. Ritalin and later, 5 mg. Olanzapine. I think that would be safer as they give Ritalin to geriatrics.

I can't imagine my old man tripping but thanks for the thought.

I know, I know ... what was I thinking ?

I just wanted him to get pulled out of his depression and I wrote this when he was adamant that he wanted to die but since then, the nurses said that by not eating and refusing treatment meant a shit load of misery and suffering - he soon complied.

he is so weak, just skin and bones but I got him to eat everything  (pureed food because his dentures were giving him grief) even the meal replacement vitamin drinks.

I found a walker and made him do 2 laps of the ward, once after breakfast then again after lunch.

he did quite well.

no drugs. I was getting desperate and good old exercise and nutrition did the trick.

(not even 2.5 mgs ? surely that can't hurt) but I can't accurately dose him that low anyway).

You could smoke some weed with him.  Or more likely give h a bite of a tasty cookie you baked.  With weed in it.

I think you want to help relieve his psychological pain.  For you drugs might do that, but for other people who haven't been exposed to them that might not be the case.

I am with Z and you should most def, see if he is down to eat a cookie or smoke a joint with you, weirdly I think heroin or oxy would be a better alt than meth for curing the blues, there isn't many things better than being opiate naive and getting you nod on.

WTF is it with me and animals? Like how do you mean? One time I did that. It was 24 years ago. I have not done anything remotely like that since. I do not abuse animals. Go run and tell that.
