Fantastic for diarrhea, shit Dilaudid is still used among cholera patients for that reason.
I can see K for Depression though. I don't remember, were Olney's lesions an issue for long term K use?

No idea about brain lesions, the only side effect I know of with K is major bladder problems, but I think that's only with really excessive use, and that's not really what the article is talking about, although at least one person claimed the clinical AD effects only last about a day, but most seem to claim longer..
As usual tho the treatments are nutty fucking expensive..

Man, I actuall never would have thought of this, though I guesse its dissociative properties would make sense to help a great deal at the proper dosage.
Go figure, wonder if in time we will see slow release under th3 skin pellets to help treat people with anxieties/depression.

Ketamine absolutely has some serious value as an antidepressant
of course I'm speaking from personal experience
tho not necessarily legal experiences
To charge someone $5000 or more for a 100mg injection of ketamine
which btw is on the U.N. list of essential medicines
is inhumane and complete extortion
people are coming to this because they have nowhere else to turn
and its hard enough to convince someone to deal with dissociation wven for an hour
without charging them a (great) month's salary

An IOP drug counselor told me about this in 2012. I can see it. I've done K several times.
I wonder if MXE or PCP would have the same effect.

@Jega: Yes, those are the lesions that excessive, chronic K use can cause.

So part of the issue is the excessive cost, but cost aside you would still have Olney's lesions with long term use unless the dose was truly minimal. I'm imagining a daily SSRI replacement. If it wasn't dosed in that way, if it didn't have to be, it would be many times safer.
And @nark, I would think MXE would work just fine for depression. PCP on the other hand is just too damn disassociating.

Ive been taking MXE iv/im for about the past almost two years on and off; just for fun really but I can say it def helps with depression, for me anyways. The problem is it is super compulsive for me(being a drug addict and all) and when i start to take it everyday and more, i start getting ataxia, memory problems, and really overly emotional about silly stuff, manic, etc etc. all of those symptoms could be really easily controlled/limited if i exerted just a little self control,not my strong suit when it comes to drugs.For me def its one of those cures worse then the problem type situations, a wash pretty much.
I would love if Ketamine infusions were covered by insurance, maybe someday bc the potential is really obvious its just needles plus mxe being as fun as it is and me being a dumb junkie and ruining everything for myself makes it tough

i'm not sure about the studies but when i finally managed to secure a quantity of Ketamine for a night out, i was far, far from depressed.
as a special treat, once in a blue moon, it's an absolutely fascinating drug at sub-comatose doses, best IV'ed with a sitter, alternating.

I knew a rich orphan kid from the midwest who was prescribed k. They came as little pills to eat. He said they worked pretty well but when he moved to CA no doctor would refill it. He definitely was clearly depressed when it was replaced with traditional psych drugs, and of course way less cool.
