Title: In Their Own Words - The truth about (long term) benzodiazepine abuse
Post by: Chip on September 29, 2019, 11:26:26 AM
EDIT: I slightly modified the title which was: In Their Own Words - The truth about benzodiazepines because most people here are aware about the nature of GABAergics such as benzos.

At the height of my not-yet-physical benzo addiction, I hit 125 mg. Diazepam per day, the "Methadone" of benzos due to it's lengthy 200 hour half-lives of it's active metabolite desmethyldiazepamWiki plus other active metabolites also.

If you wish to chip with benzodiazepines then the ones with no active metabolites (those metabolized through glucuronidationWiki) are the ones to seek out (Temazpam, Lorazepam etc.) so do your research. I'd recommend CHIPPING only and remember that every drug has about 5 half lives.

Take as many days off in a row as you use, is my general rule of thumb: if you do 2 weeks on then take 2 weeks off. Can't do it ? Then seek more help. My MMT clinic treated me.

It takes about 7 days for long term Diazepam use withdrawals to set in so I rarely ever touch DiazepamHowever, it is a gold-standard molecule for all benzo tapering.

Alprazolam (xanax) is highly addictive (https://forum.drugs-and-users.org/index.php/topic,5051) as it is fast acting, short half life and this results in a a fast and severe withdrawal danger/discomfort profile and it has active metabolites.

Take care, get educated so again, do your own research and remember that before Fentanyl, people died from concurrent opiate and benzo use.

Buddy up if you're an oblivion seeker at some phase of your using life.
