Tinnitus
« on: January 05, 2017, 07:58:15 AM »
I suffer from tinnitus - probably caused by too many nights at dance parties and nightclubs.

Certain drugs like GBL and stimulants send it soaring.

Anybody else suffer with this and if so, how do you cope ?

Could it be from opiates? I remember reading somewhere about a link between opiates and hearing damage.

It had crossed my mind but it's just too hard to say.

It's one of those problems that when you think about it, it gets worse.

The odd thing is that it can get really loud when using different drugs.

Just out of curiosity, is this similar to the auditory effects one experiences after injecting cocaine, except you experience it on a constant basis?

I have it too, Chip.  I've always just attributed it to too much loud metal, but I've also heard that opiates can cause/exacerbate it also.  Like you said, it's only REALLY annoying like when I am trying to sleep or listen to something intently.  I've read of a few fixes for it, but nothing seems to help it.....like at all.

I often ask myself:  "What would Trevor Philips do?"

Different pitch and not as loud.

Different pitch and not as loud.

Thanks for the clarification. Didn't mean to compare what your experiencing in a cliché "I compare everything to drugs" kind of way with the "bellringer" question. It's just really the only form of this I've ever really experienced... On second thought, as I typed that out, I just had a blast from the past come to mind. Getting hit in the face with an airbag blast from the steering wheel also produced this for several minutes that felt like an hour.
