Sorry it's just a link... if I knew how to embed audio I would but meh.

Highly highly recommend giving this episode a listen. Yes, it's long, about 40 mins. But it is a very well rounded bit of reporting on addiction. They're not trying to be controversial they're just trying to see all sides of the story which is something I love about Radiolab.

This makes me really excited about the state of the public conversation on drug addiction because Radiolab has a huge national audience and this is some very fair reporting - no pearl clutching, no scare tactics or mysery tourism.

They talk about baclofen and naltrexone and even gabapentin. They talk about medication assisted treatment vs support groups (niether in a disparaging way) and whether we're seeing a cultural shift in the way we think about and treat addiction.

I'd love to hear what you guys think.
