Title: UA GMS Test coming up....
Post by: Opi-ette on August 14, 2015, 08:07:37 AM
Hi everyone. Let me say again that I'm really happy to be a forum member. Its really cool to be with both old phile members and getting to know new DAU members. :)

I've looked around on google but never found a concrete yes or no to this question regarding UA that gets sent to the lab for deeper probing of my pee.

I am scripted Oxycodone. Ran out early and got a hold of Roxys. Can the lab tell the difference at all? I know oxy is oxy but the
labs are so accurate and detailed I'm a little freaked. The Roxys were hella stronger even at the same dose as the Percs, so its just worrying me that there's a detectable difference. Also they test quantitive and I kind of over did it so there's also that.

My monthly pain mgmt appointment is Monday and I just want to know if I should take a fist full of xanax and be prepared for a scolding and then dropped by my doc.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me a definitive answer so I know if I should be looking for a new CP Dr.  :'(

The only thing would be maybe if the quantitative test showed up a higher level than your past tests' average. But you're right Oxy is Oxy is Oxy. Unless they actually test for the presence of acetaminophen in your urine too, which is highly doubtful.

I tend to think you'll be o.k. though. As long as you have some in your system on the day of the test, like you're supposed to.

I agree with Zoops.  The only problem I can see is that when they test for oxycodone levels, you may have higher than normal levels b/c you overdid it.  If that was a while ago though, I wouldn't really worry about it.  If you took your scripted dose for the past few days, you should be fine.

I also don't think they'll test for APAP, but if they do, you could always just take some Tylenol to compensate.

If for some reason you do have elevated levels, you could always say you took the Percs at a different time than normal.  The test for levels is only meaningful if you take your meds at the same time every day.  Most people don't do that.  At least not exactly at the same time.  If they ask, just give them a time range (i.e., usually between 7PM and 8PM, etc.).  That's even better if you're only supposed to take them as needed for pain.

Ameritox does that.  They claim they can predict a person's usage patterns / history by looking at levels.  It's not an exact science.  That's why they got sued a couple times I think.

Thanks for your reply Nark. Actually it was last months pee test that got sent out when I over did it the days prior and day of. So this Monday, if he's not happy with the lab results, is when he'll mention it. This month I'm golden. Back to my normal baseline and sticking to it until refill time (barring any probs from last months pee test).

I'm more relieved about Roxy not having any other additives or coating things that can be detected. Then for sure I'd be hitting the pavement. I just have to think of a way to explain last months levels. Either that or just look puzzled and tell him I did nothing different, so I don't understand the test coming back higher than normal. Or....I could say I forgot I already took my morning dose before I left and took a 2nd by mistake?

DONT do that.  Most Drs are hypervigilant about overdoses and even though WE know that taking twice (or eve 3x or 4x) your regular dose wont usually kill ya when you've taken that much recreationally, they dont know that.  I'd be worried that any suggestion that you'd "forgot" and taken more than as ordered would be a red flag (or they wouldn't buy it).

Just play dumb or say you sometimes take it at different times during the day.

Thanks Makita for the heads up! I never thought of that scenario but you are 100% right!

I'll stick to playing dumb.
