chipper can u checko ut th file 1020 on the soundcloud link im gonna post. its kind of a rolling melody that switches up over time. i havent added any percussion or other effects yet but i want to see if its worth working more on or if i shoud scrap it.  https://soundcloud.com/user-518584148

only you can best decide on that however since i prefer a more complex sound what i suggest that you do is to add percussion and then keep layering/building on that to achieve a rich soundscape.

i have a hard time coming up with catchy melodies and i listen to a ton of music across many genres. when i watch producer tutorial vids they seem to just spit out great melodies at the drop of a hat does that take many years in the bus or are you born with it yay or nay?

I can answer that because I am in no way any musician - just a technician with some gear and lots of source.

for the most part you have to be born that way and have the music in your head that needs to get out ... but with technology and persistence, you can fatten those melodies up and then refine it.

either way, it takes dedication and time, a lot of it. with today's "stems" technology, (dance/club) music is delivered as a package but able to be split into components (percussion, bass, synth, vocals) ... have a search for such technology to see how you can build on a simple melody.

I'm not suggesting that you buy the technology, although I do use it at home, but it might give you ideas.
