LOL.  It's an American rock band Chipper.   :)

I really liked their second album, The Thirteenth Step.

You've confused me - a full 360 degrees.

What was confusing? I do it like that to make an unbiased open discussion, without a specific question or opinion.

For instance if someone came along and said I absolutely hate that band and maynard is a dick, they could, without me coming across as only wanting to talk about how much I love the band. It's an odd way of doing it I know, and it hasn't worked yet, but maybe people will catch on. Never know.

Or have you actually just never heard of them?

Now I'm confused.

LOL.  It's an American rock band Chipper.   :)

Supposedly that whole album is about the process of addiction. Don't really know though. One of my favs also but it's very emotional.

I think he had just never heard of them.

Yeah, I heard that too.  About that album being about addiction.  I can see a lot of the songs having references to addiction.  Not all though.

What i like about them is the whole album is very tied together, like i have to listen from beginning to end and sometimes that same list over n over. Early stuff better imho.

Not a fan. I can appreciate what they do, but it's just not my thing. I was into Tool for a while when I was in highschool, but I also liked Sublime and Rage Against the Machine, so... (don't judge me, it's was the 90's).

I never really got into them I like a few of their songs. I love tool though the first two albums Opiate and aneima were awesome danny carey is definitely one of the best drummers out their. My brother played drums and he was his favorite drummer and he would play everything they did it was insane to see how technical it really is. My brother was like a mix between john bonham and danny carey. When my brother figured out how to play bleed by meshuggah was when I decided he was the best drummer I had met. Just trying to keep up with the snare in that song is hard enough. I have no idea how he figured out the pattern for all the 16th notes in there. It kind of makes me miss playing music to think about.

Meshugga is cool as fuck. I like Undertow by Tool. The way "prison sex" begins is awesome. That sound like someone's tearing up a floorboard? Fuggeddaboudit.

The first state prison I went to, I was thinking about this song. Place was straight out of "Shawshank Redemption" (exactly the same setup, down to they rec yard outside). Scary as fuck. Shower time, I wore my boxers in there. Luckily, I didn't have to live it.

The 90s was a great time
For music
Seen the resurgence of the
Singer songwriter.
Then again we were blessed with bands like

I don't know. There was great music before the 90's and there's been just as much great music since. I think a lot of 90's music is seen through this weird nostalgic reality warp, and a lot of it isn't as good as a lot of people remember it. That's not to say there wasn't great music made in the 90's, but it's also the last time pop music was more rock oriented. Personally, I think the majority of the 'grunge' bands that were really popular were really pretty mediocre (nirvana, Alice in chains, soundgarden, et al). I know a lot of those bands are popular with users here, and I'm not trying to disparage anyone's taste, that's just my opinion. I think the problem isn't so much that a certain decade was the last great era of music, it's that people tend to age out of listening to or finding new music. Some people think it's all been down hill since the 60's, or 70's, or 80's, or 90's (it usually ends with what ever era is the most recent to be played on classic rock radio), but really it's been relatively consistent, in terms of truly great new music, for the last 60 years.

Also, it's Maynard James Keenan.
