Buprenorphine dose response curve
« on: July 29, 2016, 06:24:00 PM »
Hello all,

On opiophile there used to be a wealth of information about low dose buprenorphine and how more does not equal better in the case of this drug. Do any of you know where I can find some scientific information on this topic online,  not behind a paywall?

Reason being,  I lost my insurance earlier this year.  Obviously this hurts bad with two opiate dependent adults in the household staying clean on bupe maintenance.  Even worse when one adult thinks they need truly excessive amounts just to stay well and I know they are just pissing out money erryday.

Thanks for any info you can give to bolster my arguments.  I'm just spluttering at this point, which works about as well as you'd expect.

The high doses are not so much for making someone feel more "well" instead they are for more blocking effect with respect to other opioids the patent might abuse.

When buprenorphine was only available as an analgesic, the recommended dosage was 0.3mg. It came in a 0.3mg/ml IV solution, called Buprenex, which was C-V before it went on the market as Suboxone (C-III).

 Thanks Zoops.

Is there a point where it's not even being absorbed anymore,  just eliminated?  Do you know?
