Title: which would you say is a more euphoric: Barbiturates or Benzodiazapines ?

I'm just wondering if the stories I have heard about reds, yellow-jackets, and Christmas trees would stack up against the Valiums, Xanax, and mazzies/ triazolams are even comparable. I would really like the opportunity to try these rare downers. Any thoughts guys? What's the difference?

I'm fond of diazapams ability to make me feel very comfortable, I didn't get that from barbs.

The problem with barbs is you will get a tolerance and they don't scale the way benzos do. The LD/50 compared to the ED/50 is too close compared to benzos. It's pretty hard (not impossible but hard) to kill yourself on benzos alone. Now Butalbital isn't all that dangerous but the hard core barbs, Secobarbital, Amobarbital, you will hit a point where you can't take enough to break through your tolerance without possibly killing yourself.

Can barbs get you more "f-ed up" then benzos, yes, but they are far more dangerous.

That being said if you get your hands on some Tuinal, you thank the Gods.

I have extensive experience with seconal and butalbital and I get a much more euphoric experience out of the barbs than any benzo I've ever tried.

I've only experienced butalbital and phenobarbital, so I'm going to say benzos are more euphoric.

For euphoria, if you can legitimately call it euphoria, I like alprazolam. I've had temazepam too, but I still like Xanax / alprazolam better. I'd love to take the alprazolam v. triazolam taste test to see if Halcion is better.

If I ever get to try the good barbs like pentobarbital, secobarbital, and amobarbital, I have a feeling my opinion would switch from benzos to barbs.

I'm saying that because I really liked butalbital the very few times I tried it.

Phenobarbital is odd. I was given Luminal in one of my inpatient detoxes. Back then, I liked it. It made me relaxed, outgoing, and talkative.

When I took it a couple years ago, it was just an extremely heavy, oppressive sedation. I didn't notice any enjoyability.

Although that could have been because I had been taking clonazepam, alprazolam, and diazepam daily for a couple months prior to that.
