Rompun and Anased for xylazine and tolazoline is tolazine.

for handling (including processing), the substance`s mode of action must be described.
Sedative and analgesic for short surgical procedures. Also useful for treating colic.
Tolazine is the antidote for xylazine and is administered to reverse affects. Essential for
completing surgical procedure. Xylazine provides heavy sedation but can also produce
bloat in ruminants.
12. A ``Petition Justification Statement'' which provides justification for one of the following
actions requested in the petition:
Xylazine and it's antedate Tolazoline is an essential tool universally used by
Veterinarians who work on livestock. Many surgical procedures would not be possible or
would be inhumane without such a short term sedative/analgesic. Labeled without
holdoff requirements for Deer (ruminants) It is extremely effective for Bovine, sheep and
goats. Administered intravenously or intramuscularly by a Veterinarian Xylazine is a
systemic anesthetic lasting about an hour. It also hinders rumen mobility so while the
effects will dissipate on their own ruminants can bloat so the reversing drug Tolazoline is
used. The two materials need to be considered as a pair.
The organic industry is without a nonsynthetic alternative.
