I really really really hope we get some dedicated chem boards! e.g. Ideas/discussion, synths, links to papers/patents...

We could even invite Boro back!!?

I agree, and unlike that "other site", us kitchen chemists can use Superscripts and Subscripts for our communications:

We added the acetic anhydride to the dry Morphine SO₄ and the reaction didn't go well.  Then we figgered-out that Morphine SO₄ forms a penta-hydrate (so Morphine SO₄ + 5H₂O) --even when bone-dry, and that it was the integrated water molecules that fucked-up the reaction.  Next time, well take the Morphine SO₄ and then base-out the Morphine using NaCO₃, at a P_H of ~9.1.  After centrifuging at 2000_RPM for 10 minutes, we will have a pellet of morphine base.  After decanting the supernatent, and drying the free-base in a vacuum for 2 hours, we proceeded to use the AA and got the results we wanted, namely: _3,6-diacetyl morphine.

Yesh my friend, this should be funz!

I tried to tell you if you were going to play with positron emission to use Potassium-40 for that reason but no one listens anymore.
