Title: Who chose that subtitle?
Post by: Jazzybelle2 on November 19, 2015, 09:03:45 AM
The subtitle "Fentanyl Kills," although certainly true in some cases, strikes me as grossly prejudicial, almost...I don't know. ..jingoistic? The same could be said for any drug, right down to plain Tylenol.  Could the management please find another subtitle?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I suspect you are talking about a tag.  anyone can add one by clicking on [add tag].  They are often jokes, and there isn't really anything offensive about fentanyl kills.  Right or wrong, it has a rep for killing even experienced users.

Can you clarify that? I've looked and I don't see that anywhere...I'm not entirely clear on where you're seeing this, let alone your reasoning for thinking it's grossly prejudicial...

Hey dizzle if you look under Opiates and go to the Child Boards, under Fentanyl, it does say "Fentanyl Kills."
I am not sure who chose to put that there, but I will take a look into it.

I obviously wasn't aware of this and we'll do something about it.

Jega-condolences.

Not your fault at all Chipper!

It is a dangerous drug and you were just doing what you thought was the right thing.
Cannot fault you for that.
We just get the right information out there so that people do not die from this drug.

yeah, it's all because the thought of IV'ing Fentanyl scares me.

thanks ... just a tad TOO HR, on my part.

I would like to suggest a subtitle of "Use with caution," and would try to do it myself but I am (finally!) on my last gasp of consciousness after this miserable night (see my post in "How are you doing," or don't).

Thanks for responding.  Jega, my condolences, and very sorry if/that I hit a sore spot .

Dizzle, in answer to your question, I felt that the Fentanyl tag line "Fentanyl kills" was grossly prejudicial because, as many of you know, I have multiple severe medical problems, mainly musculoskeletal and
neurovascular, plus fibromyalgia.  The relief I got from Fent patches (used as directed) literally gave me back a big piece of my life.  With them I could finally get actually restful sleep, and could move much better, especially my back and arms.

I've since discovered what seems to be an entirely safe recreational use as well, with multiple blood and urine tests, including liver function, all being WNL (within normal limits).

Therefore, if we truly are a HR site and some newbie wanders in, I don't want a prejudicial statement to scare him/her away from getting the tremendous, life-changing  benefit I've received.
