motorcycles as medicine
« on: April 26, 2018, 07:34:08 AM »
its springtime need to fix a clutch issue, bike has been in my apartment for the winter.  Mama Kawasaki zrx 1200, i'm as adamant about the brand as most harley guys are about their fat slow pigs.   love anything 2 wheeled, fat pigs included, love riding my pop's road king. he also has this bmw, a 1600 tourer with heated grips, seat, gps, satellite radio, bluetooth communication system, winscreen goes up and down.  i call it "das-uber-bike."  anyone else like bikes?

id post a pic of my girl but phone sucks.  maybe can link to photobooth, think i have picks, also pics of bikes i had/ built before heroin...

2005 triumph thruxton new:
here she is after finished:

gave her cams from an earlier 790, big bore to 900cc, bigger valves/porting, flatslide carbs.  fork internals from a 93 honda cbr, rear shocks ikoni.  took it to the track & could hang with most 600s in the slow class, made it into intermediate class with it.

here's what a tire looks like after a decent track day:

mostly into vintage bikes, kaw 500 2 stroke:

ill try to post pics tomorrow when im sober, if

guess im photo retarded, links work though.

Love the Triumph Moe. I told the husband that a Triumph is the only bike I'd ever dish out money on if I had any.
Never drove any bikes cuz all my pals ones were too big for me and I couldn't get my feet comfortably on the ground, but sat on the back of many. Still have the burn scars on the inside of my leg from my ex's.
But yea like Chip said, fun until ya fall off. I rolled off the back of one once but I always wore a helmet despite my pals mocking me. I remember getting up to 117mph and literally feeling myself lifting off the bike lol. Saw some bad accidents too. Bike ones always are. It's the person's socks that are almost all the way off that stuck with me. Be safe and have fun mang.

sadly, the triumph went to heroin.  bonedust, ive stoppeda at 2 wrecks & both times  boots had flown off.not sure what mechanism causes that but it's common.  i've only been without a bike for a couple years since 18 (48 now.)  never had an incident on the street but have had two lowsides on the track.  track riding turned me from a speed obsessed kid to a control obsessed adult.  when you stand back and look at your chosen braking marker at the end of a long straight it's  eye opening how long it takes to slow down.

Hell yeah. I have a motorcycle too,  and I love it.

About a year ago,  right after I got on MMT I picked up an 80 Suzuki GS850. Its old and nothing super special,  but its fun. I wish Id have bought one sooner :)

Moe, yer just an old tweaker bikie, go on admit it  ::)

the original outlaw motorcycle gangs used to add MethylamineWiki to make their bikes go faster and they quickly figured out how to milk that baby ... or so the rumour goes.

my all time favorite memories are of big ass parties of my hippie parents, 50 bikes parked on the lawn, stereo speakers
in the windows, frisbees, softball, kegs, bongs, lines of coke on the table but best bit was endless wheelies up & down the street, 5-8 years old.  honestly unreal, that shit don't happen today.

I've always wanted to get a motorcycle. My wife is too afraid that my drunk ass would kill myself. That's also why she won't let me own a gun. Geez, the things love makes you put up with.

I have a pretty nice bicycle that I used to ride back in Philly. When I was broke and waiting for my unemployment check, I'd take some lope and go ride through Fairmount Park. It was pretty effective when it came to dealing with RLS and WD's. But yeah, I can see how riding would be helpful.

Side Note: After those bike rides we'd have sex. I don't know if it was just the bike seat massaging my prostate or what, but I'd shoot huge Peter North loads. I wish alcohol hadn't ruined my sex drive. Eh, now I'm rambling. I hope everyone is having a decent day.
