in view of the ongoing dispute between chops and St T., please remember that in no way do the founders endorse the opinions expressed.

we are doing everything possible to maintain peace.

whilst sad to see St. T. go, we have at least another 150+ to keep happy.

I didn't want the job either but if a new forum was to be built, I have to give it my best shot.

the more members, the more complex the politics ... but I really want to see everyone feeling happy with their new digs.

sometimes it doesn't end well (as in this case) but chops is excellent about weeding out the fakes, LE perhaps and definitely trolls.

he supports his mates, is always sussing people out and wants what's best for us.

what happens though, are personality clashes and this is what the issue with St. T. was about.

chops did not abuse his power, no, he merely spoke his mind. he comes across abrasive with no diplomacy but guys and gals, this is a drug HR and safe using site with many hard core folks here ... it ain't facebook and it's close to the street.

chops is the real deal and we trust him to uphold our values and respect his intellect.

no roles are permanent and I personally thrust this on him - he didn't ask so if you see his rights change then it's not personal ... the site has been attacked twice already and this is why we need his skills. once we are satisfied that we're in good shape, he may become a regular member.

can we keep everybody happy ? probably not but if there's any lesson to come from this is to have a thick skin and to view chops as the clubhouse bouncer, in the interim.

so, once again, the view of one person with great technical power is not indicative of the general feelings of the founders or of the management, as a whole.

I hope you understand and if you feel you can help somehow then we would like to hear your diplomatic advice.

we try not to take sides but we also need each other ! drugs and all that goes with it ... it's hard enough without in-fighting here.

wishing all of you much peace and some happy middle ground ... and those close to St. T., we share your disappointment and have left the door open to her - she can return at anytime - which I hope she will.

we do not want to delete her account - for if we do that, then there's no hope in getting her back.

It's actually been three times - my first attempt was with a phpbb forum I built and the next day is caused a DoS attack and i have no idea why or how.

here, the first was by spambots - I had to tighten the registration process then there's the recent and most disrupted: a Brute Force attack when I created a passwordless guest user.

two of those disrupted the network connecting our host to the other virtual guests.

when you realize how nasty the internet can be, valuable security specialists are a godsend.

I am relying on people like chops to audit and rewiew our exposure - remember that many people hate drug users so that's not helping either.

It's just unfortunate that St.T. threw in the towel and nobody wanted that.

we are just saddened, that's all and yes, chops is well aware of our feelings so let's hope for a smoother run for the future.

oh, and the St.T thing sucks. She was a great poster but this isn't the first time she's pitched a fit so everyone would beg her to stay. Ehhh...she'll probably be back and if not it's her loss.

I don't think it's personal - it's far more likely to be automatic security weakness probing software.

they can take over machines and start spamming or worse,  destroy the site's data and usability.

but chops would know far more than I do but he's also busy with his real life.

I had no idea just how many threats exist but as more features are installed and configured, we're getting better.

I hope this clarifies why we need more skills and with that, some different personalities to contend with.

I have faith in chops and he will mellow into a more tolerant man over time, I predict.

I'm sure you can all see our dilemma - I'd rather need not have to ask for help but no man is an island.

Sweety, I was told to take a hike by an administrator, I don't want anyone to beg me to stay. I was insulted, and I didn't pitch a fit. But if that's how you see it, oh well. Maybe if you had a  direct conflict with an obnoxious poster youd  see it for what it really is... Who knows, maybe you'd still think I'm looking for attention  ?

I don't know who would pull that "if this one goes I go" deal...I hope you weren't implying i or anyone I consider a friend would do such a thing.

I would however appreciate if the situation between me and chops/esoteric/opus was explained correctly and accurately  detailed.  Then It could be put to rest and left in the past. So here I go...

Facts
Chops has three different accounts.
Chops is an administratior


Chops was in a converstation between 3 posters where his name was being mentioned,( I did not bring him up, he wasn't being spoken about in a negative manner),  during the back and forth he didn't bother to say "I'm chops under a new handle"
When I asked him in a different thread why he couldn't have just said it was him, I was given the usual treatment he gives almost anyone who questions him. And then told to leave by him. Keep in mind, he is administrative.

I have left any animosity between me and chops behind a long time ago, I thought that he and I were cool, before the phile went down we were pleasant to each other, I received "rep" from him and gave "rep" back.  I know how he can be and accept it for what it is. This was all well and good when we were on a level ground but being told to "hit the road" and other insulting shit from an administrator I felt as if I wasn't wanted here, and to be honest, it looks really bad for this forum when an administrator treats members the way I was and gets nasty when asked about their multiple accounts and handles. 

The owners, chipper and nick have handled the situation I'm told and I was asked to not leave.  I respect chipper and nick tremendously and hope that I haven't caused any trouble.  If anyone feels I'm looking for attention by stating I was leaving you are very much mistaken. I do not want or need attention of this sort. I stick up for myself and will not back down to blatant disrespect from anyone, and will make that known. Please don't confuse that with "trying to get attention"....

Thank you to chipper, nick, nark and everyone who helped sort out the issue. You guys are very busy and I apologize for adding to any of the chaos you guys deal with.

I don't want the admin position, and I NEVER did, I hope that's really clear. I made a new account because, surfing and posting as an admin is simply naive and asking for trouble. I wonder how many "admins" here know what cross-site scripting is?

"Accurately detailed" - lady you sure expect a lot from people who have worked really fucking hard to give you this place. I think you should check your expectations, because IMO, they're WAY out of line.

just because Chops is an admin, that gives no weight to his personal opinions.

he is here because we want to have good technical support ... which is damned hard to find.

St. T. please do not see it as the whole of management ganging up on you - you have some great insights and you have empathy.

technical gurus haven't got the best reputation for social skills anyway (Chops excluded) so if you can reign in your personal feelings, it may just be what the doctor ordered.

i beg you both to ignore each other - i want you both here. Chops isn't going to pull any technical stunts, he's just expressing himself, as you are.

please do NOT see it as our endorsement but on technical matters, Chops is wise to use his other accounts and as he sees fit.

now can we PLEASE get back to our favorite topic ? which is all about safe and fun drug use.
