Title: Treating GHB Withdrawal
Post by: Chip on November 03, 2016, 11:45:49 PM
a friend of mine is now addicted to GHB; all it takes is about 3 months of 24/7 GHB/GBL/1,4-BD use.

she is quite scared and rightfully so, i suggested Phenibut for the short term BUT what is interesting is that the most effective treatment is to use PentobarbitalWiki -- that's Nembutal, the very controlled barbiturate/drug of choice for euthanasia seekers. It is coadministeted with Zyrem (legal G) and the Zyrem is slowly reduced and then so is the barb.

Baclofen is also effective and is used as the GHB dose is titrated down. Benzos are not so good and neither is alcohol but may work for small habits.

i have been researching this and the withdrawal peaks on about the 6th day and is far worse than opiate withdrawal, not just because it could possibly kill you but because the symptoms are nasty and can last up to 2 weeks or more !

Permanent nerve damage may be caused by excitotoxicityWiki from the GABAergic withdrawal.

what a drug ! lots of people are now presenting in ER for this. It's a very popular drug in (gay) Sydney but I fear it.
