Do you think it Marijuana will pass in Ohio? Issue3
« on: November 01, 2015, 12:01:52 AM »
Well we have 3 days until we vote on marijuana in Ohio. November 3, 2015

Question: Do you think it Marijuana will pass in Ohio? Issue3

A quote from NORMAL “Ohio voters support legalizing personal marijuana use 53 - 44 percent. Men support it 59 - 38 percent. Women are divided, with 47 percent in favor and 49 percent opposed.”

But the general polls (Pew, nbc/wsj) polls constantly show it passing or within the margin of error.

Ohio has always been seen as a bellwether for the nation

The Ohio AG didn’t want it on the ballet so he created “Issue 2” which makes a Marijuana monopoly illegal so if Issue 2 passes, Issue 3 doesn’t matter

If you live in Ohio please vote.  Please even if you live in an affluent area where you think it would never pass, vote anyway because the count is statewide,

No on 2; Yes on 3; Issue 15 isn't awful either.

Yes
They sit on the state line
Watching there tax dollars
Fix my pot holes
Now the roads will get bad again.

If it does and you want
To get in the ground floor of growing
I can help
Also if it's legal
Probably won't be because
Of the state line
I got extra that you can have
To help buy grow lights
Seeds, chemicals.

Ann Arbor was voted
The most dispensary friendly city
In the USA.
Go Michigan

The people behind Responsible Ohio are fucking greedy asshats. They are trying to make sure that them and their people have a monolopy on the marijuana industry in Ohio if everything passes.

Its kind of like here is your recreational marijuana but you have to buy from us and no growing and selling your own. This particular issue is flawed from what I am told from relatives that live in Ohio. I lived there for 22 or so years and would have loved to have the chance to vote on it, but it doesn't look promising for this year. I am hearing maybe 2020 for the next real chance at passing recreational marijuana in the state if it doesn't pass this year.

Yea that is messed up if you got to
Get it from them and not be able
To grow your own
What is the point in that
I am going to grow my own
Poppies next year
We bake allot
I want all natural seeds to
And I think of I don't score/harvest them
should be good.

Ohio already has a monopoly on any alcohol above 20% so we've proven we can stomach monopoly.

The point is is issue 2 fails and issue 3 passes, I'll be able to walk into a legal store no different than a Speeedway. Pay a competitive price for something. And leave. Legally.

Is the legislation perfect? No. Most are not. Let's get this done then work on making the law better.

To clarify, IF Issue 2 fails and Issue 3 passes, you CAN grow your own MJ.  The amounts are just low.  You can get a license, and grow up to four flowering plants, and produce and share up to 8oz. of homegrown MJ.

For buying it in a store, you can purchase / possess / share up to 1oz.

I voted on this Wednesday.  Yes on 1, No on 2, Yes on 3.

The legislation isn't perfect by any means.  It is a get-rich scheme for the monopoly, and it severely limits independent growers.  BUT, it's a start.  The point is to get your foot in the door, and expand and improve the law later on.

The other thing I didn't like about Issue 2 is that it would prevent voters / citizens from gathering signatures and putting legislation on ballots.  If 2 passed, Ohioans couldn't do that anymore.  I think that's shitty.  I hate the Republican asshats in power here.

Transparency is necessary to ensure decent staff members get elected. Members need to know when staff are misbehaving, so members can be informed voters.

Hopefully it'll pass.  If there are enough younger and middle-aged voters, I can see it passing.  But it is a general election, and those don't usually draw the crowds like a Presidential election.

If it passes, I wonder how soon it will be enacted.  When would stores start popping up.

I'm pretty much fucked either way.  Even if I were to find a strain that guaranteed an anxiety-free high, I'm sure the Sub doctor wouldn't allow it.

They are doing everything to make this not pass.

Issue 2 for one thing

Doing it in an off election year 2015 is another

We have negative adds coming in from both out of state AND the Alcohol industry. They did it in Colorado too.
If it passes, it will come down to the ground game which I’m frankly impressed with but I just don’t know if it will be enough to get enough registered voters out to the polls. We can hope.

I don’t know how the tax system will work or when distributors can open. I we look at Colorado, Washington and Oregon as examples, it takes them about 12 months to get their act together. Write the regulations; get the tax code in place, etc.

Here in florida during the general election for state stuff MMJ was voted on it had to have a 60% vote for yes it ended up being 58%. I'm sure during the presidential election way more people will turn out and we can get 60% next year.

If you live in florida please goto http://www.unitedforcare.org print out the petition and sign it and mail it away, u must be a registered voter or it won't count I've got about 50 signatures so far from friends and family.

CBD strains such as Charlotte's Web is approved in florida however there in a legal battle to find the 5 nurseries who have to post a crazy bond, br established for something like 20 or 30 years and have a certain amount of gross sales a year.

It's a fucked up situation, as there are already 40 or so doctors whom are licensed to prescribe it but there's no way to procure it legally.

The state is hosting a discussion with the legislators and such from Colorado next week, also growers and patients, their trying to figure out how everything works, if the amendment passes in 2016 our state will be very much like colorado, everything tracked from seed to sale.

The thing is they could add
a 100% tax
And people would pay it.
When it gets close to fifty states
I predict they will start with holding federal dollars.
You will get

I just got this email and its fucking great news:

Our opponents have decided NOT to contest United for Care's 2016 petition at the Florida Supreme Court.  As you may recall, United for Care won approval of the 2014 petition despite strong opposition by Attorney General Bondi’s office, as well as the Florida Medical Association, Chamber of Commerce, Florida Sheriffs Association and others.

NONE of these groups filed opposition this time!

While this could mean a speedier approval by the Supreme Court, it is at least a tacit acknowledgment by Attorney General Bondi that this petition is likely to satisfy the Court.

The 2016 petition was changed (from the 2014 version) to clarify some points, particularly as it relates to parental consent and the process in which people can become caregivers.  It also makes explicitly clear what the Supreme Court found was implied in the 2014 version: that medical marijuana could only be recommended to people with serious, debilitating conditions.

Though the court will still need to approve the petition, it appears the most significant obstacle to getting on the ballot will be obtaining enough validated petitions.  To that end, we need each of you to go here, fill out the form, download and sign the petition, and mail it in.

Please also encourage your friends and family to do the same, by forwarding this email and sharing the petition link (http://www.unitedforcare.org/petition) on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you,

Ben Pollara
