$14 million worth of heroin seized in Queens
« on: January 30, 2016, 01:53:09 PM »
I really wish I would come across 100lbs of heroin only if i were on an island far away from the US though. I wonder how big of a dent that makes on the supply and how much dope new york does in a day. Maybe next time they will use a tank instead of a monster truck it's probably harder to pull over a tank.

You guys should read the comments if you feel like getting pissed off or viewing some of the stupidity in america. Heres a few that stood out to me

"The damage to society from these hard drugs is intolerable. The related crime, and death and costs to healthcare and employers is destroying the fabric of society. It's time to drug test every American citizen to curb demand. We know there will always be supply to such a lucrative demand. The transportation industry and military have been drugs testing with great success for decades. we can't afford drugs anymore. Why won't our governmnet drug test everyone and close the border to these drugs as well"

"Have distribution kiosks that give addicts all they want and when they OD from them haul their sorry carcasses off to the incinerators for disposal."

Also if anyone knows how often does the military do drug testing after you are recruited? I knew they drug tested at recruitment but I have no idea what the drug policy is there I always thought it was more of a don't ask don't tell kind of thing after the initial tests in training. I only knew they did it during recruitment/training because I know people who were kicked out.

I signed up to go straight to OCS after college for the good ole US Army. Good ole CBRN 74A

When your processing thru meps to enter the army they do a FULL physical, including dropping urine for the drugs

The night before you ship out the recruiters generally put you up in a hotel near the MEPS station that you depart thru and let you party(alcohol and women).

Once you get to your boot camp you will be given another UA.

It really depends on the unit or the commander. But it is not uncommon at all for a unit to be tested once a week. At the minimum it is required a service member be tested one time in a 12 month period. Now with this being said Drugs still run rampant throughout the military. The type of test the military does is a very basic test and sometimes even though you were selected for a UA your sample may never get tested and you will never know. You have to think of the amount of samples a lab gets on a given week. The money that would be spent on testing would be outrageous. It is I think used more as a scare tactic. I mean people still get caught, but if you are smart and know the system you will be fine. To say that it deters people from using drugs is very false. An addict is gonna use no matter what. I know from past experience. That guy is a very close minded and inexperienced to make that statement.

And I think they only do a simple dip test... I say that because I know spice weed is really popular with the army guys... or so I hear.

I'm not sure how often it is, and my friend was probably playing it safe(ex opioid user) but in the navy he said they drank and robo tripped often(dxm) because of fear of being tested

What's the general attitude toward drugs among the troops like? I'm guessing tobacco and alcohol is highly accepted and maybe weed too. What about "hard" drugs though?

the dudes in the military are just like us, i had a group of ex addict buddies, funny how we find each other, even in that environment. but we all would find xanax through our buddies wives because they got them to deal with us being gone so long haha. weed is iffy due to drug testing thats why that k2 shit blew up fast in the military. drinking is everywhere, alcohol related incidents like public intox and dui are frequent. the military has special rehab programs within itself caled SARP substance abuse rehab program. google it idk whatll come up, they like to keep shit like that covered up. opiates and shit are rarely used, i was that guy for a little nodding off in formation haha.
