So I went to go get some 3 ml syringes at this Kroger that usually sells them to me. It's either this nice white lady who always does or it or this dick head black guy who has told me yes before and no before. I've bought insulin syringes there too... at times both at the same time.
So this time he remembers me... I go for it anyways and I told the tech what I needed. He was about to go get 'em until dick head says something. He says I should get on their system so I don't have any trouble buying them... like he was wanting to actually be helpful. So I say sure and ask him what I need to do. He asks what I use them for, testosterone, and then tells me he needs a script. I remind him that he sold them to me last time... he says, yeah well you could've been a cop and written me up. That's not exactly what he said, but it's what he said. I told him I'm pretty sure that's not a law. He insists that is. I suggest I write him up for it since he believes in it so strongly... he gives me his business card.
The last pharmacist told me "cheers" after selling me some insulin syringes. Why are they so fucking stupid sometimes? Do they really not understand people are going to be doing this anyways and they are literally contributing to the spread of blood borne diseases? You would think these people being "educated" and all would tend to lean on the liberal side but it doesn't seem like it...

I have had my share of hassles buying from pharmacies so it's why I go out of my way and stock up at a free NSP.
damned judgemental "world savers", they are just being silly.
they just don't like us ... and they are actually part of the problem; small minds.

I did that once... I think I called the lady a psycho wanting to spread blood borne diseases... she called the manager on me lol.

If you don't have a needle exchange program nearby, just order them online. I know it's not handy in an emergency situation when you need it ASAP, but if you try to stay ahead of the need, it's doable. Online is cheaper and has more variety too.
I last tried to buy insulin syringes a little more than two years ago. I went to a particular Wal-Mart where I was told I wouldn't have a problem (although I doubt that now, the person who told me could have just been fucking with me).
I get there, ask the lady pharmacist, she says she needs my script, I tell her it's not against the law to sell without a script, she says they don't do that there, I leave empty handed.
They definitely know that people are going to do whatever they want anyway. I think some of them just don't care. They might think that it serves us right for catching something, or that they're thinning out the herd or something. Who knows. In any case they're not forward thinking or correct.

Now I have got some shit at walgreen's and cvs. So I tend to stay away from those pharmacies. When I can swing it I just buy a 100ct box. That way I don't have to worry about it for a bit.
It sux here in Houston for iv users. There is no NX exchanges. It blows! He'll ATX has a few and houston is 3 times the size in population! I just don't get it...

I recently had a man N woman come up to me in the grocery store, and ask if I would please walk over to pharmacy area and buy them syringes, they said that the "staff" wouldn't sell them to 'em-I didn't even ask why or anything-just said sure, what type-size,etc.
they sold to me no questions asked!!!!!?????
Its beyond ignorance to REFUSE to sell them-regardless of whatever the fuck their belief system is-not going to stop an iv'er from iv'ing-but you CAN help reduce the spread of blood bourne diseases.

I don't understand the script thing. At Wal-Mart you can get insulin OTC, novolin. So...If you can buy the insulin without a script, why should you need a script for the syringes? Maybe ask the next pharmacist who refuses at Wal-Mart. That being said, I've never had any problems at my Wal-Mart!

Yes, that whole thing where you don't need an Rx to buy insulin (well, all of them except for the lantus kind), but many pharmacists insist on a scrip to sell the needles to you really fucking bugs me.
You'd think someone with that extensive of an education would be able to grasp the illogicality of that situation.
Whenever I was buying the 3ml joints from CVS, I'd always come up and say, "hi, I have to give steroid injections to my dog, for his arthritis, do you have any 3ml syringes that you could sell me?" Most of the time they would sell them, but occasionally, they "didn't have them in stock" which actually could have been true, because they don't always have those big ones in supply.
But a 3ml/cc syringe is indispensable for shooting pills, fuck that 1cc noise for breaking down pills!
Oh, and DoD, I'm gonna be a dick and correct your Spanish: It's beuna suerte, not bueno suerte. "Suerte," or "luck" is a feminine noun, so it would be "buena."

Yeah I know... I should just buy online. As a matter of fact I'm going to right now. I mostly don't because I forget to before I run out or something but still... they should sell them.
I usually have better success doing a song and dance about my sick demented grand pa who always forgets everything... pretending I'm reading the size and guage off a text in my phone and stuff like that. I remember one lady, when I told her I don't have the bottle of insulin, asked for a picture... which I got off Google. It's like they so need to believe or even have reasonable doubt at least that you're not one of those lepers...

Yes unfortunately pharmacists believe that they are as close as it comes to being god and are morally superior to us normal folk. A girl I like is a pharm tech. and I asked her if they are allowing narcan without prescription or if the pharmacists can write for them there since I wasn't sure if the policy and new regulations that were recently implemented here and a lot of other places were implemented there in oklahoma.
So she asked the pharmacist for me and he gave her a lecture of why he is against dispensing it, because it promotes heroin use and makes the users think that they can od as much as they want without dying after telling her they don't have that policy there. She kind of agrees with him even though she is a chronic pain patient. I was kind of glad i didn't tell her why I thought that he was uninformed and that not giving it to people only kills them and doesn't affect rates of use because she probably would of argued with him.
I don't understand how some people are so stupid, and evil. I mean how can people basically say I would rather have people die because they don't have the same beliefs as me and I am against helping or saving people who are different. I asked her what she thought about recommending it or giving it to people with narcotic prescriptions especially the elderly incase of an accidental od and she said that there should never be accidental ODs and people shouldn't use drugs.
Which ideally sure that'd be nice but I asked what about people with dementia, pharmacists who dispense the wrong drug, or kids who accidentally take the wrong meds or get into a medicine cabinet shouldn't they be able to have help. I respect her opinion though cause she is smart and speaks her mind(and really cute/japanese) but i always try to inform people who get them to change their views if I can, I wasn't able to change her views on this or the death penalty though which I am cool with but I think she will look into it now.
Hopefully if she does become a pharmacist she changes her mind on the subject and supports pro harm reduction ideals.

I honestly don't understand what they think they are achieving by refusing to sell addicts, or anyone really, needles. It is so well established at this point that addicts will get needles somewhere, and that it doesn't stop anyone from doing anything. It is common knowledge really that it isn't a detterent. In fact, it has been well established that it just increases the spread of HIV and Hep C. It's just unbelievable that any pharmacist who has taken the ethics of the field with any degree of seriousness would refuse to sell someone clean needles. It's nonsense.
If anyone lives in Canada and doesn't have access to a needle exchange drop me a line and we'll figure out a way to get you clean needles together. I'll extend the same offer to the states, but I would probably pass it on to someone more local to help work out a way to get you access. Don't be shy. Needle exchanges are essential. It's a right and not a privilege. Anyone who is helping to increase access is doing essential and life saving work.

Here is a Pro Tip I have used to buy needles many times:
BEFORE you go to the store write a note to yourself from "mom" or Grnadma" asking you to please buy [exactly what you] want. Wait in line and look at the note ina sort of confused way. When they come to you say; " I'm suppoosed to get thes but I'm not usre what they are. I understand 1cc but isn't 29(30, whatever) guage a huge needle?"
It helps if the note is in your best granny cursive.
Also, save the bg or box when you buy and brng it in and say, "My mom/grandma" asked me to pick up some of these she said they'd be bout (Whatever you know the price to be) Does that sound right?"
These tricks have worked for me many many tims where the laws do not require prescriptions but pharmcists are prone to be dicks.
My sister bought a "medic alert" diabetic/insulin bracelet that she wore when going to buy needles which works most of the timefor her.

She tells them she's drinking it, but the pharmacist knows she's lying because of the sores on her body. She's obviously making meth he says.... shouldn't a fucking pharmacist know that syrup doesn't contain psuedo? What a dumbfuck, she's not turning dextromethorphan into methamphetamine...

I went to pharmacy school in the late 90's and you could tell what kind of professionals most of my hopelessly square and stuffy-ass classmates were going to become.
The majority of them were super skinny Asian females. It was a certain attitude that they had, I can't put it into words, but it was like that kind of stuff. Really dumb shit like, "she's making meth from DXM" type stuff. And they knew it doesn't contain pseudoephedrine. It's like they thought they knew the mind of an addict just because they were learning about the therapeutic application of drugs and medicines.
Some of the people were cool, but none of the cool people were Asian. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of the nerdy, square White people among my class, but all the *coolest* dudes and chicks were White or Black. Of course, I have met many Asians that are and were cool as a muh-fukkin fan outside of pharmacy school I think I ought to add. And there were only like three Black people in my class, one of which died in a car accident while in school, but they were not of the type I described above. All of them partied with us. There was a group of the misfits who went out on weekends and got drunk as hell and another subgroup smaller still, of those who were into "our thing." I did heroin with one of my classmates one time. That guy is still practicing pharmacy in VA Beach, VA. Has a house and a kid and all the trappings of the American dream, unlike me.
And these diminutive little Asian girls were mostly scared to DEATH of any drug addiction-related stuff. And of going to jail for something. Like many of them truly believed that you could go to prison for selling needles to an addict. Like for twenty years. Dumb shit like that. It was almost enough to make me have some racist attitudes toward Asian women. It was like "grow some damn balls, you silly little girls."
I don't want to sound racist, because I'm the last person on Earth that could be considered one, but it was strange how 100% of the Asians in my class were square and had sticks up their ass like that. Only like 90% of the White people were like that, though, lol.
I think it's safe to say I'm the only member of the class of 1997 from Medical College of Virginia's school of pharmacy that actually has gone to prison.

Yea that shits annoying as fuck never had much of problem until now. besides when I was down in fl and broward and dade county couldnt sell em at the wally world for whatever reason. Im in sc rite now and know damn well they can sell em to me because I have before, in another part of the state. But here in charelston for whatever reason they keep wanting to put my name in the computer to check if I get insuilin there. Granted I only checked a couple walgreens and cvs's after hours the other night. One lady even went and grabbed what I needed. Then some bitch came out from the back and told her something and all the sudden she had to check the computer to. When I told her my normal story of being from out of town she suggested I go next door to the clinic (at like 8:30pm) for some reason? By that time I was just so fed up I walked out, went home and reused an old one.

That is fucked up norm, I just can't believe the stupidity of these people. How can you justify it at all? I am not going to give them a clean needle so they don't use or do anything that could hurt them, even though what I am doing is going to hurt them and be far more dangerous to them then them using. Seriously wtf kinda of logic I hate these people that are all gungho about saving people from themselves.
I was at a sex trafficking seminar yesterday that had people who were prostitutes, erotic service providers, and people who helped to change legislation and helped those people with resources and everything else. I have always thought prostitution should be legal but I hadn't talked to anyone that does it, to see their views and it was really cool and informative. Like drug use pretty much all of the problems involved with it are from it being illegal.
They all said stop trying to "save us" and talked about how making victims criminals and prosecuting this population is making it harder for the victims to get help and for the traffickers to get caught. It also causes lots of problems for everyone besides how much tax money is wasted and costs of extra health care because it's avoided because they don't want to be arrested. You can get a trafficking charge if you aren't married to a person, who you are living with or sleeping with if you pay a majority of the bills, and consent doesn't matter in the laws.
They give trafficking charges to people who work as support in the industry like janitors or receptionists at massage parlors or jerk off booths. There is constantly police getting arrested for abusing this population (daniel holtzclaw), and serial killers go after these types of people because they won't goto the police.
Also billions of dollars are being wasted on people claiming to be giving resources an helping people in the sex trade but if they are religous they don't have to explain their fund usage and it mostly all gets blown on the religious types who are trying to stop prostitution because its morally wrong and all of the money that is supposed to be used helping these people is going towards finding victims to snitch on, and campaigns to pass legislation to make more laws and punishment for all involved.
I fucking hate people who want to save people from themselves seriously fuck off with the self righteous bs, and moral superiority. Its all bullshit and countless times its been proven the biggest proponents of people against these types of things are the biggest perpetrators and often participate themselves. They are all fucking asshats I will never understand hurting, abusing, and imprisoning people for their own good. How does that make sense, we are going to lock you up, or throw you in jail and give you a criminal record so you can stop and get better.
I wasn't able to read the facebook page idiots, but I am pretty aware at how those type of assholes think. They are so stupid its infuriating they use this guise of wanting to help people, by killing them, ruining their lives, making every aspect of their lives harder, and making them prone to infections and diseases. They continue to do shit that is scientifically proven to not work at all and to cause more problems than the one they are trying to fix. We need to kill these people so they don't accidentally die!
The girl I was talking to that is a pharm tech moved here from japan and wants to become a pharmacist. Unfortunately zoops she has the same ideals you talked about. I really hope that I can change her opinion but it seems like a lost cause because she is pro capital punishment/death penalty and even though she takes pain meds she has a very strong opinion on why people shouldn't and also why we shouldn't help drug users.
When I talked to her yesterday this is her side of the convo
"Pharmacist is against it(giving people narcan) bc he thinks it makes people think its ok to overdose and just use the antidote over and over. There shouldn't be any "accidental" overdose.(i asked about narcan recommendation with narcotic script) Thats why we don't sell syringes with out prescription Honestly. .....people shouldn't use heroin to begin with....then we wouldn't have any issues."
Most of her stuff is very misinformed/naive and hopefully after i show her studies and explain to her the benefit of it she might think differently. She did stop talking to me after I explained why I don't think people should die because they made a mistake or use drugs, and asked what about the people who were forced to use it when they were a kid, been abused their whole life, or whose dr didn't inform them of addiction.
A girl I know was forced into prostitution at 12 and they shot her up and got her addicted too. I don't think she should die and not be allowed to use cleanly or have access to narcan. We should have every opportunity to get her help despite how many times she relapses or if she doesn't want to or cant. I think we should help people as much as possible despite if we disagree with their actions and give them every opportunity to get help if they want it and incase of accidents we need to have this stuff available.
We should do whats been scientifically proven to help. None of the deterrents we use work, not selling needles or narcan isn't stopping or slowing down use, it is just raising the amount of needless deaths and people catching infectious diseases. Which spreads to non-users, and makes us spend trillions of dollars for no reason.
It forces death and punishment on someone because they don't have the same morals and trying to help people by hurting and killing them isn't right. We shouldn't save people from themselves and we should try to help people as much as possible regardless of their views or actions. Allowing narcan and needles doesn't hurt anyone or cause any problems, but not doing it kills thousands, and costs trillions every year so what is the point of it? I didn't get a reply. I also told her I respect her opinion because she has hands on experience and shares her beliefs.
