I think this is a good idea.
I never understood lil johnny and other admin's refusal to allow people to edit posts after 5 minutes -- sometimes people have very good reasons for wanting to change something they've posted.

I have set one hour for most people but this is for you and the other trusted people.
Mu also can make good use of it.
I was about to spend hours figuring out how to code it and then the nice guys at Simple Machines gave me this. No file modifications, it just hooks in somehow ... the SMF logic is very complex but the guys have given me their debug tools so it's worth exploring.

This is an educational experience for me as I delve deeper into php. I am blown away by the sophistication of this OO language - my background is in Assembler and this is the other extreme. I need to understand this.
... anyway...
I want people to be able to revise their posts but only certain people.
I'm glad you think it is of benefit.

installed and permissions set for the SA_Chat+ membergroup.

Not only do I think it is of benefit but I love this idea!
I agree in saying I never understood johnny's short time thing and all thing time I came back and reread a post and wanted to make spelling change or little change and never could.
