Title: Took Cialis this morning for my Raynauds
Post by: Opi-ette on October 15, 2015, 10:18:15 PM
Hi folks. Part of my medical condition causes circulatory issues, and this morning I woke up
to a wicked Raynauds attack. Its due to the cold weather. My fingers turn white, they get numb and very cold. This is my first official attack of the 2015 Fall season.

So my docs tried giving me Norvasc which is a blood pressure med. I dont have high BP and it didn't do jack for the raynauds. Every time he writes for Viagra or Cialis for me, my insurance denies it and I just can't swing the hundreds of $$ for it every month. Also the people at the pharmacy give me the dirtiest looks, they think I'm either getting it for my non existent boyfriend or selling them. One snotty little bitch actually said "what do you need these for?". The tone was soooo bitchy and she had such bitch face.

I went on Cialis website to see if they had any discount programs or something, anything because I'm desperate. I like my fingers and I wanna keep them yanno?
I found a free trial offer during the summer so I had my doc fill it out and I got 30 5mg. I just took one at 9:55. I hope it works because if it does, I will appeal my insurance again, this time with proof that it works for Raynauds.

Sorry for the lengthy post. Its just I get a little scared. I see my friends on my FB account that is strictly for just them (don't want family seeing the pics they post it would scare them).
They lose fingers, toes, sometimes the whole hand or foot  has to be amputated.
Laugh at me all you want bitchy pharmacy girl but if this works and could save people the agony of losing parts of their bodies then I'm gonna yell it from the rooftops loud enough for insurance to hear it.

Ill keep you posted if you are interested. lol
Love, peace and chicken grease :3

They actually have been known to prescribe male ED meds (Viagra especially is the one I know for sure) for female sexual dysfunctions too.

One time, back when I was married, my wife and I both took some Viagra before sex. It was pretty amazing, she said.

Increases blood flow to those special parts in both sexes. So don't sit on any washing machines on spin cycle, k?

I've heard 50% of ED drugs are taken recreationally...what ED drug isn't taken recreationally!

I knew someone with Raynaud's Syndrome, and they had special battery-powered gloves & socks--that provided heat to fingers & toes.

It was a cold winter's evening, and I saw small glowing LEDs on her cuffs & ankles.

I don't know if those are special for the syndrome, or maybe for hunters, etc..., like the old hand warmers.

Do you have any batter-powered, heated gloves Opi-ette?  They might be a good idea--even indoors!

Yes  Morfy I tried those. Also those packets that you shake and they have this sand type thing inside that stays hot for like 12 hours or something. I think I've tried everything without much luck.

Happy to report that by 10:20 I have all the color back and my hands are nice and warm.

Only side effect is my right arm is really hot and feels strange.

I'm keeping a log for the next 30 days.

The entire premise of the thread is about non-recreational use of an ED drug.

;)

Is this a new problem for you opiette?

When I still smoked squares I'd get numbness in my hands and fingers pretty easily, it seems to have pretty much gone away since I quit..

Sorry my mistake. I see a thread about ED drugs and my mind going right to sex. Carry on.

Im so sorry you have to deal with this. I can only imagine how you must feel and to not be able to get the medication you need AND get attitude from a completely clueless person just adds salt to the wound, Im sure!  Is there any way you can get your physician to write a letter directly to your insurance detailing the medical need for an exemption to the exclusion?

The Dr just needs to provide documentation regarding your symptoms and response (and lack of) to "standard"/previous treatments. This should be plenty to get a waiver. If its anything like what I've seen, you'll just need pre-authorization (usually 48 hrs at most) when you fill it. I've seen this work a bunch of times (for myself as well once).

I'd also suggest you keep a copy of the letter in case the insurance folks are jerks & seriously, either report the problem to the agency in your state that oversees insurance companies, and/or write your local congressman AND Senator. I can say personally, all of a sudden, miracles seem to suddenly happen when these steps (tho insurance companies should do right in the first place) are taken!

Please keep us posted--I'm very glad it's better.

Any other, um, effects? It's o.k. you don't need to answer that of course. Just being inappropriate as I am wont to do from time to time.

Next time tell that pharmacist that ever since your PTSD (or some med or something), your erections just haven't been the same.

Or you could say you have a prostate like a grapefruit.

Oh, I haaaate the snotty pharmacy bitches!! One of my pet peeves is pharmacists and techs who either try to play god or are just plain dicks.

I had one miscount my subs once and of course they "did an inventory" and it was right so I was SOL...

I would love to have a little PWD laser gun that I could surreptitiously shoot them with on my way out the door... muahahaha! pew pew pew!

@ Zoops, you don't magically become horny just because you took the pill. haha You need to have stimuli in order to get all worked up.
The more you know ~~~~~~~~~**

@ Chops, not a bad idea, they dont know that I'm not a Caitlyn ;)

@Lone Ranger, what is a PWD laser gun and where can I get one? :p jk to any LE reading this :p

Yeah cigs close blood vessels. Doc told me no more. Been vaping ever since but it hasn't
done shit for the Raynauds. The Cialis is like a miracle.

Since you quit do you find you dont get the tingly thing anymore?

Thanks S&W. We have appealed every insurance carrier I've had for the last 9 years. Medical necessity is lost on them. The only hope I have now, is that the Cialis WORKS. I was amazed at how well it worked. So I'm going to keep a log which will include pics when I have an attack. I want them to see what it looks like. Maybe, just maybe whoever gets my appeal to review will have a heart.

I'm not going to use it all year. Just the fall and winter, so they would only be covering it 6-ish months. Also thanks for the suggestion regarding writing my senator. Great idea! :)

I tried it once didn't help me at all...but I think the anti depressants work against all that...should try it again if I ever go off them...zero sex anything is such a bummer...sigh...
Glad it helping Opi!!! And so sorry you have to deal with all this BullShit..

I know you want a legit deal because this problem is about as legit as it gets.. but if it comes down to $$ and insurance and your health.. they do have straight up viagra and alternative R/C versions for sale for cheap. just an option.

Is massage therapy effective during an attack?  If so, I know first-hand how expensive massage therapy can be.  But maybe a massage pad or a hand-held massage device could offer some relief?

Here's another idea: Since my mother likes to soak her feet, I bought her a massaging foot bath that keeps the water warm.  Hers has a few different massage settings.  It was quite nice and I don't think it was over $30; however, this was a few years ago.  Newer products may be even nicer.  If it's effective, I imagine it could be used on your hands as long as you can find a comfortable position.

I must admit how little I know about your condition, so I apologize if my ideas are useless.  As a part-time massage therapist, I see a myriad if health conditions-- including certain circulatory problems-- being relieved through massage therapy.

Other than that, I am glad the Cialis worked.  I hope it works consistently and that those who have no business nosing into your affairs will STFU.  If not, try returning the burn by asking them what they know about Raynauds and whether they know how Cialis works.  If those pharmacy techs are bright enough to know both answers, maybe you'll see some wide eyes.  If you encounter somebody who can't put two and two together, s/he might just STFU to save face.

Good luck to you.  I hope my post wasn't completely useless.

Someone I know ordered different types of sex drugs, cialias, viagra, levitra, from internet pharmacy, and we were discussing that it may work on girls so I took some of each of those three on different days. In my experience, cialias definatly increases blood flow and circulation all over the body. I was super hot, red in the face, overheating on that chilly day. Ordinarily I'd be shivering and have numb hands and feet on such a day. The viagra actually seemed to have the intended effect on me, as well as making the circulation work better, but the others just made me have the above described feelings. All I'd say increase circulation, but as far as making sex feel better, only the viagra did anything to me (a woman).

And yes, I know it does not magically turn you on, any of them, but the more blood flow does make things more sensitive. Almost like enough to counteract the opiates. 8)

Wow is that right?? Good to know LadyKalma. Recently I don't need help in the sex thing but if one of them had a 2 pronged effect I'm all for it  ;)
