Jessica Jones, Sufentanil, Marvel Universe
« on: November 24, 2015, 02:49:57 PM »
I was watching Jessica Jones on netflix last night and sufentanil came up so I wikipedia'd it and it says it is available as a transdermal patch in europe and at stage 3 of testing for use in the US. Has anyone used it? The wiki says its about 5x stronger than fent. They also say the new patch will last up to 7 days if its approved for use in the US. Currently it's only used as a med for anesthesia.

I liked the show Jessica Jones the new series on netflix about the Marvel comic book. It goes into a lot of different things including addiction, ptsd, and rape. I thought daredevil was a lot better but it was still good. I was more interested in the male hero in the show. I think a show about him would of been good.

It's set in hell's kitchen and I believe they are eventually going to cross paths with daredevil and make a show with daredevil, jessica jones, and one or 2 other super heroes called the defenders. Which will definitely be cool they make references to the avengers in it a few times as well.

I like the marvel comic movies and like how they brought everything together like with capt. america, iron man and the avengers, I would be interested in seeing a show with jeremy renners character and maybe another hulk movie as well. The new captain america movie looks good. They are already looking into avengers 3 and Iron Man 4 which will be cool.

On a slightly different note I hope the Suicide Squad and Batman vs. Superman movie are good they look like they are going to be awesome. I am a nerd when it comes to the comic movies but I never got into the comics themselves. What you guys think of the Jessica Jones show and Daredevil?

The patch that their testing here looks just like the matrix fentanyl patches, very very similar in size to the mylans.

I don't know if this will be a REMS drug, it's weird how they assign that crap. It may need to be tho

I had the pleasure of sampling several IV doses of 50mics of sufent back when I was on my clinical pharmacy rotation, back in '97 (in another lifetime, it seems). Shit was very nice, but no legs to speak of on it. Better rush than hydromorphone, or fentanyl, IMHO.

I was asking the head pharmacist about the tiny little 50microgram ampoules of sufentanil, and he said, "yeah one of those is enough to knock three people out, even kill one person." (as I was thinking to myself - this idiot has no fucking idea I just slammed a whole one in the bathroom!).

They were diluting one ml of that sufenta solution into about 150-200ml of bupivacaine injection for epidurals to use in L&D.

I watched the first three episodes and like it so far.  The pacing seems a bit off, and I am waiting for the show to hit it's stride a bit better.  I am a fan of Luke cage, and the actor they picked to play him is perfect.  Sexy guy says the wife.

They have laid out avengers 3 & 4, an inhumans movie, a doctor strange movie, a second guardians of the galaxy and more.  Look up the marvel film timeline, and you will see they have planned for a while already.  I'm particularly excited for the deadpool movie.  Ryan Reynolds will play him again, but this time he is the actual character and not a nonsensical plot device.

Too cool.

The deadpool movie looks pretty good. I finished the Jessica Jones first season. The pace was slow and really off. It kind of turned into a emotional throwup bag with very little action. It was more about feelings and the trouble she was having with ptsd and people dying. It was terrible compared to dare devil. They barely showed off her powers as well which was kind of annoying. They downplayed her powers as well like it was barely above average.
