Sorry for thr loss.. k pins never really helped me whIke in a true panic attack or real but wig anxiety, it helps in that it lasts quite a while in our blood, but if u need something quick acting, try ativan or xanax. But be careful, I've been on benzos just over half my life.

Again, please keep ur head up.

Clonazepam is too long acting. It's not made to be a true hypnotic.

Look in her other thread. Her bf died and i'm assuming she's referring to the showing.

Corlene, I hope the K pins finally allow you to relax and maybe even sleep. As someone who's been to far many close funerals in his like it really would be for the best. *hug*

If you can't do that, you can always vent to us.

But here is hoping the meds help you out today of all days.

It's Anyong who is having trouble with the k-pins, not Corlene, despite the misleading name. Corlene is a dude.

Anyhow, I was thinking: is it possible that Vivitrol could somehow interfere with benzodiazepine effect? It's not a benzo blocker, but a mu-opioid blocker. Still, it's an interesting possibility. I wonder if any other Vivitrol users have complained of this.

Yep, in less than 30 seconds, I found this study where it was shown that naltrexone can attenuate or lessen the subjective effects of benzodiazepines:

If you havent acquired a sizable tolerance for the stuff....

Genuine Scientific Mystery?

I was downing 6-8 mg xanax w/ kpins for good measure every now and again too. Either mixing em in, or not.

Back then, that was just to keep up.

8mg wouldn't have phased me neither.

Now that Im down to .5mg (.25mg am .25 pm) of alpraz daily, whole. different. story.

Havent been able to log on much lately, so I don't know your personal tolerance level.

Did they come from a pharmacy or the streets?

Also, Truly sorry for your loss as well. That's a hard one.

Anyong I am sorry. I didn't note the right name in my head when I scrolled up.

*bows head deeply in shame*

I think once you have a tolerance to benzos, really anything, they never quite work the same again. I know I was (off now) taking 8 mgs kpin daily at minimum to stay comfortable. Even if I quadrupled that dose, I'd feel it, but it's not like I'd black out.

I am not sure about why your kpins aren't working, you may just be going through way to much for them to really help. Please be careful with your usage though I know they are very long acting and would hate for you to take a ton since they aren't working quickly and then fall asleep that night and have to many in your system. Also please keep in mind how much you took if you use any opiates, since you don't feel them right away or like xanax you may not remember how much is actually in your system.

I am so sorry for your loss, please keep your head up and use the board for support and talk to us! I can't imagine how much you are going through and trying to stay clean on top of all of it, it's a lot for anyone. If you do use please be super super super careful, you know how much having even a few days of clean time let alone a whole year can affect your tolerance so please if you use have someone with you and some narcan! I hope you can get some sleep and deal with all of this, I can't stress how important it is to cope with this instead of pushing it down.

I'm so sorry to hear about losing your boyfriend, that's awful to an extreme.  I hope there are people around you who care & that you can lean on them when needed & just that you get through this to find life again on th other side.

Obviously not the time for jokes but I briefly read the first word of thread title as "zero milligrams" instead of "oh my god" & was going to say those 0 mg ones never do much for me...

Anyhow, I wish you all available comfort, peace and love through this.   :-[

I'm fairly sure that it's the naltrexone interfering with the effect of the clonazepam. There are a couple studies out there that were done in drug users (abusers, more accurately) that have shown this to be true.

Since Vivitrol is such a whopping dose (albeit delivered over 30 days), I don't see that as being too far-fetched.

(and I'm quite aware of naltrexone being an opioid blocker, not a benzo blocker - still it's out there - just Google "naltrexone attenuates benzodiazepine effect" or something along those lines).

@Zoops I think you might be on to something
I think benzodiazepines do to some extent
Effect your mu receptors
Like opiates
But I also think it's b/c
Once you take benzos for an extended period
They never really feel or work the same
Plus kpins are a long acting benzo
More ment for management of anxiety
Not like xanax
Where it will quickly
Relieve anxiety

But what the fuck do I know...

Klonopin never knocked me out like xanax.  It comes on too slow.  You will be sloshed for the next 12-18 hours tho.
