Guys, remember DARVOCET?
« on: May 04, 2016, 09:55:43 PM »
I have a bottle of 60 of these I had stashed away from 2007 and I'm using them for a taper. I know about apap so I don't need to hear the schpiel on that, but what else should I know about darvocet? Your experiences? they are 100/650s and by circumstance, I have to get clean here in a jiffy. I was kicking in a jail holding cell all weekend and the cops had a rare moment of mercy and PR bonded me out with a 20k bond at like 8 at night because they didn't want to deal with me jonesing any more.

Yes, that really happened, but now I have a looming court date that I cannot miss.

Thanks guys, appreciate it as always.

Darvocet was linked to a potentially deadly heart rhythm abnorm-at any dose.

It was concluded that the pain relief benefit of propoxyphene did not outweigh the heart risks.

Drug reports on opioid pain medicines had long recommended against using products containing propoxyphene because of this, but the FDA had ignored that advice......until it was finally pulled from market.

I read about the heart rhythm thing, but I heard that it was testing done on already-compromised seniors or something?

Not trying to find an excuse because i don't really have a choice either way, but I always like to do my research and this is the best place.

So far, it seems to be somewhere in the range of codeine for battling wds. It works but I'd rather have tramadol.

Let me rephrase that: it works for about 6-8 hours, but you can't keep redosing cuz of the apap and cant do a CWe. Fuck.

i had a go with this drug that has a 'similiar-to-methadone" chemical structure (i read somewhere) ... no luck here, it seemed weaker than low-dose codeine.

I'd rather have T3s for apap-related reasoning but fuck it I totalled the car I just got in January on my way down to the hood and have absolutely nobody to way to get down there. Been going daily for 3+ months and if you guys remember I spent all of 2014-2015 as a "once a month" user, so I'm facing down the barrel here. The worst is over but still.

Smash the barrel up man!  Never tried darvocet, or even seen it really.  As long as it helps right?

I mean at one time they were on the market, so its not like little pills of poison. The advert heart problem shit was most likely just a fraction of a tiny tiny percent of the people who had them prescribed.

bottom line is how you are feeling on them. if they help, by all means do what you need to do booboo

I've had it a lot of times actually. It was always a couple dozen pills at a time, never a large amount. it was the go to painkiller for kids for a while. It was taken off the market for heart arrhythmias. Fairly recently too. I'd rate it on par with Tramadol. But it doesn't work in every person.

Yes, they help but it doesn't last that long. I only took 3 this morning (1.8g apap) so I gave myself a window to take another 3 later in the day so I can time my daily functions around the times I feel best.

I agree there is probably some overreaction about the heart arrhythmia but I'm more worried about paracetamol poisoning.

True, but I can easily dose that 3 times a day and still not be 100%. Guess I'll try and limit myself to 2 dosings a day. I have access to a little lope but it didn't seem to help much since I'm past the acute phase.

I had the opportunity to try them once, big oblong pink pills. Ill admit the first time i tried heroin or pot i didnt get as high as i ultimately would, but for the life of me i cant say i felt a thing from them, and i ended up swalling 6 or 8 total due to being stopped by the cops. We were drinking at the lake and had to pick up all the empty beer cans in the area haha
and then i heard about the heart thing, thats one of the few impediments to my my typical drug garbage disposal behavior, heart stuff freaks me out, though apparently i have good genes in that department, so i continue to shoot.

The risk-benefit odds remain good on that for me
