hi, the REP system needs to be re-calibrated closer to the original default settings.

if we don't do this then we will fill up soon, mainly due to the non linear growth of the "power" value - IT IS driving up the numbers.

regarding the two settings, shown below:

Users gain 1 power for every 25 points (Default 100) and i want to make it 50

Users gain 1 bar image for every 333 points (Default 1000) and i want to make it 500

note: your power value will go down, as will your number of green blocks BUT no points are lost.

That seems very responsible and sensible, Chipper.

I don't think most people will have a problem with this now that they know the reasons and causes. I personally didn't care for the previous changes because there were no explanations given. Rep power numbers and bars appeared fine one minute, then drastically changed the next.

I think most people are going to be understanding of these new modifications, IF they're given a reason and explanation prior to the changes. Otherwise people get confused and upset.

Normally you do that, and I appreciate that fact. But the lack of a reason and explanation prior to this recent rep change was very confusing IMO.

With that said, good job on addressing the rep growth problem.

i hope nobody else has any concerns about this as there may even have to be another rep. adjustment as time goes on.

via Admin > Configuration > Features and Options > Reputation

i also changed "How many times a day can a person give reputation?" to 10. was 15, seemed too high.

On the pile it was 3 wasn't it?  We seem to have a couple people with lots of rep, but most people have significantly less.

I have my rep shut off but still get rep.??? Weird but whatever I don't mind it. I just don't want to show off how awesome people think I am ;) jk.

Well that's coming from someone who doesn't  care about rep in this forum because it's not real, like as in my real life reputation. The people who know me for me are the only people who I would maybe give a shit about what they thought about me....Internet people? Lmao....lol. That's why I shut mine off and I give rep to shit I truly thought was needed to be said to that particular person only, or the post was very informative, and well written, or really fucking funny.

I feel like I've given you rep before because there's more than a few post of yours I liked. I'm not mad at Ya, don't take it personal. :)

It looks like I havent ...but I also can't see past the 13th of March. Idk. Lol
