The new series has started.  It is set in the time immediately before and during the outbreak.

So far the characters seem interesting, but we are only a few episodes in obviously.  One interesting part is that there is a junkie character.  I just finished the second episode and it featured withdrawal and him needing to get more drugs.

We talked about that a few times on the phile.  Maybe one of the writers is a fellow phile.  It will be interesting to see what they do with it as the series progresses.

Anyone else watching it so far?

I watched the last one up till like season 4. Gonna check this one out when I can. Not gonna lie, wish this would happen in real life. For selfish reasons.

I have been surprised that no one else brought this up. I really enjoyed fear. Especially the kid on dope. I hope they treat his character with respect. People are already commenting in other places that they could care less about some junkie kid. Mean people suck.

I've got high hopes for the spin-off bc I'm really into the original. They film TWD right up the road from where I live in middle Georgia. I've been meaning to ride up and check out filming but I REALLY don't want to get in the way. Still, it might be a fun day...

I fell off the original series honestly.  I keep meaning to watch the second cour of season 5.

Watched the first two episodes yesterday, after reading this thread. Last season of TWD ended in a fizzle, but this one is kind of cool so far. What about The Knick new episodes?
