Title: weird system date issues
Post by: Chip on October 03, 2016, 06:06:39 PM
The date was wrong and went backwards for some weird reason so i issued the following:

date MMDDhhmmYYYY
hwclock

I have no idea why this would happen but after doing so, all users were thrown off. apologies if one was you.

Make sure your system timezone is set correctly and run ntpd.  You'll never worry about a wrong clock again.

Do we set our date/time individually, or is that done on your end chipper? My site was showing what I assume was Aussie time, like 12-14 hours in the future. Now it's 3 hours later than the actual time.

To set the right timezone, try auto detect as outlined in the Knowledge Base entry (regular SMF section)

It worked ok for me so give it a go.
