New member- Me vs Opiates
« on: January 12, 2016, 05:59:44 PM »
Hello to anyone reading this. Im a new member. Im a 31 year old male (in my into post I said I was 30,, must have forgot about last year! Lol). Started drinking and doing drugs at 14. Was an everyday addict by 16. Started with mainly Oxys, then would just change to whatever other opiate was available, vics, perks, ect. Been back and forth with sobriety. Longest I was sober from opiates was about 2 years or a little longer. Spent 3 years in prison from age 20-23. Lately my addiction has led me to high doses of tramadol, and or vicodin. I was clean for awhile until someone gave me a bunch of tramadol and I figured since it wasnt a narcotic, and not your traditional opiate that I would be fine. But as an addict I decided to try taking 5 and 6 at once since 2 ddidnt do anything. Next thing ya know im taking 20 a day with a handful of vics for breakfast every once in a
While. I moved recently to a different city so I dont really have anyone to get stuff from now so I started going into withdrawal a couple weeks ago. I eased it with Kratom everyday for the first 4 days, then neurottin/gabepentin with a single kratom dose every couple days. So now I sit here, with nothing but time and my mind working against me! That has been the worst of the withdrawals, the mental collapse that comes. My mood has been all over the place. Emotions the same. Bad depression. I have moved around alot in my life so I never really made friends that I kept so I am super alone with this. Anyways
..here I am!  ;)

Welcome. Stay away from tramadol in doses that high as they can and do cause seizures.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

Yea, I read about that. Luckily I never had that problem. I was more worried abt seizing coming off the trams since I was taking that much for a couple years and then had to abruptly stop.

Yeah,I'd be wary of getting into high dose tramadol use-anything over 300mgs at a time and I start getting precursor seizure symptoms. Not pleasant at all.

Anyhow, welcome and sobriety does get easier-in time.

Welcome. Hope you like it here.

I'm gonna reiterate the tramadol warning: PLEASE do not take tramadol in high doses! It can cause seizures. Another thing to keep in mind is that Tramadol has some serotonin activity. So if you're taking SSRIs or another type of antidepressant, please don't take high dose tramadol. The added exertion of serotonin could easily push you into the seizure zone and / or cause Serotonin Syndrome.

Welcome again. Have a look around, and feel free to ask questions, post, etc.

Welcome to our little corner of the interwebs.  What does your name mean, or is it random?  I have never done tramadol. What is the buzz like?

Tramadol is great WD aid but I've found that if I take more than 300mg I get random serious twitches and feel really strange, almost like I'm going to seize, although it hasn't happened.

Occasionally I will get super lightheaded and nauseous on them too, maybe serotonin syndrome? Almost feels like PWDs.

Anyway, welcome.
