Drug liberalization (Wiki)

go to Drug_liberalizationWiki

Drug liberalization is the process of eliminating or reducing drug prohibition laws. Variations of drug liberalization (also spelled liberalisation) include drug relegalization, drug legalization, and drug decriminalization.

take the link above to read the excellent write-up.

United States

Throughout the United States, various people and groups have been pushing for the legalization of marijuana for medical reasons. Organizations such as NORML and the Marijuana Policy Project work to decriminalize possession, use, cultivation, and sale of marijuana by adults, even beyond medical uses.[67] In 1996, 56% of California voters voted for California Proposition 215, legalizing the growing and use of marijuana for medical purposes.

This created significant legal and policy tensions between federal and state governments. Since then, 20 more states and the District of Columbia have legalized and regulated medical marijuana. State laws in conflict with federal law about cannabis remain valid, and prevent state level prosecution, despite cannabis being illegal under federal law (see Gonzales v. Raich).

On 6 November 2012, Colorado and Washington state legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana for private recreational use, and created a process for writing rules for legal growing and commercial distribution of marijuana within each state.

The 2014 Midterms saw voters in Oregon, Alaska, and Washington, D.C. vote to legalize Marijuana for recreational use.

Australia

Australia has one of the highest percentages of marijuana smokers in the world.[69] Australians have been advocating for the legalization of cannabis since the early 1970s with the Cannabis Research Foundation of Australia in Victoria. Other active groups in the later 70s included the Australian Marijuana Party and the Marijuana Petition Organisation.

During the 1980s, an independent Australian chapter of NORML was established and became the main force in the Cannabis Campaign until the early 1990s. In 199?, HEMP (Help End Marijuana Prohibition) was established and continued the fight for law reform. In 2010, HEMP qualified as a political party and will be fielding candidates in elections where possible.

In 2011, the Cannabis Campaign seemed to experience a renaissance in Australia, no doubt due to developments worldwide, with many new groups appearing in different states, using social media as a conduit and forum. Since 1985, the Federal Government has run a declared "War on Drugs" and while initially Australia led the world in 'harm-minimisation' approach, they have since lagged. In 2012, the think tank Australia 21, released a report on the decriminalization of drugs in Australia.

First off anyome who has done a drug knows weed isn't a drug
so it shouldn't even qualify

I want to see an honest discussion about allowing people to get their opiate DOC from a doc
FOR TREATING ADDICTION
not "oh yea, definitely 10/10 pain despite sitting here talking normally" from a less than reputable doc
as well as stimulants too, instead of going to "prescription weight loss clinics"

All we have to do is keep overdosing and dying in horrific fashion
in numbers too high to imagine, for years
it seems like that strategy has earned heroin at least some national attention in the US

I once spilled my guys about all the dirty awful details of my opiate addiction to a guy in NA. His response "yeah man, I was in the same boat. I was so bad off on weed it wasn't funny. I just got over my wd's." I wanted to fuck that chump up so bad. So insulting.

anyways i was not serious, marijuana contains, among other things, THC
which is in fact a drug

if we can please hurry up and get over
marijuana not being a satanic sacrament
which is only useful in helping teh kidz get addicted to "harder" drugs
maybe we could start to help out all those people who smoked pot
then started shooting heroin or meth

Called drug policy reform in the real world and it's interesting there's no mention of the most prominent group involved the drug policy alliance-Soros's people.

it does have certain people by the goolies.

I know people who have gotten off of heroin and alcohol by using synthetic cannabinoids. That's some shit to say right there, but it's true.

George Soros can eat a donkey dick.

A large part of Soros’ multibillion-dollar fortune has come from manipulating currencies.  During the 1997 Asian financial crisis, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad accused him of bringing down the nation’s currency through his trading activities, and in Thailand he was called an “economic war criminal.”  Known as “The Man who Broke the Bank of England,” Soros initiated a British financial crisis by dumping 10 billion sterling, forcing the devaluation of the currency and gaining a billion-dollar profit.

Soros has repeatedly said that he sees himself as a messianic figure.  Who but a megalomaniac would make these comments?  “I admit that I have always harbored an exaggerated view of my self-importance—to put it bluntly, I fancied myself as some kind of god” or “I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise I might end up in the loony bin.”  If only the loony bin were an option.  As it is, one of the wealthiest men in the world is using his billions to impose a radical agenda on America.

fuck anybody that wants the USA to kowtow to international bodies.

He IS correct on the drug legalisation front though, I'll give him that. But he was also behind some UN bullshit to force America to curtail 2nd Amendment rights (of which I do not benefit being a second class citizen due to having a felony conviction).
