A quick Google search claims I am dead ass wrong and it is "very water soluble"?  Maybe I just recall people referencing to IVing it counterproductive/not any more rewarding thus being pointless regardless of its solubility?  Another simple Google search and I'd know what it's oral bioavailability is but I'm almost positive it's very high anyway, but watch me be naive once again lol.

Methadone freebase is insoluble in water, whereas the salt form (Methadone Hydrochloride) is very soluble in water.

I have had a couple friends who absolutely loved to IV their take homes.  I tried it a couple times and was not impressed at all.  It didn't kick in any quicker for me and the idea of shooting that weird red syrup into a vein just creeped me out.

Wait, so, it didn't have an immediate onset? It still took the same time it takes to kick when consumed orally? If so, that's weird.

On another note, does anyone remember how to OR just have a copy, there was à guide on freebasing (smoking) methadone. Expained how to extract the done from the juice.

I can tell you all about this.

Methadone freebase is not soluble and will drop out of water.

Methadone HCl will dissolve into water.

the pH at which it drops out is about 8.5 or so. little bit of Sodium Carb and it'll fall out like snowflakes.

the red juice is not going to be easy to pull the methadone from. I have pure methadone and water and it's easy AF.

That red juice is basically a shitload of sugars and it makes it terribly hard to extract pure methadone unless you're quite skilled at chem and have the tools.

IVing methadone is not very satisfying. I've IVed the pure shit I have and basically I got a SMALL rush followed by a collapsed vein. Not a good idea as it's very acidic in solution and not good on the veins, even in the pure form. I'd NEVER IV the red/pink shit as that's totally not worth it.

the truth is, if you can't smoke it, just drink it.

smoking it, however, is a WHOLE nother story. it'll blow your habit to the moon but you do get high af.

I can confirm that smoking methadone is too good for a maintenance med.  Dangerous stuff.

I was getting compounded methadone capsules for a while (lot of Florida pharmacies do in house compounding of opiate medications) and all my friends ived it. I tried a couple times and thought it was totally pointless. It didn't seem like I was getting more drug then i otherwise would have, the onset wasn't really any quicker, may as well just pop em.

I'm curious as to why IV doesn't produce a rush or at least immediate onset? Only reason I could think of is if methadone isn't active but it's metabolites are?? But I don't think that's correct

The rush is minimal, barely noticeable because it is kept in your bloodstream and fills the receptors as needed.

That's how it does its "time release" trick.

This is a great article all about Methadone: http://www.methadone.org/namadocuments/es05basic_pharmacology_2.html

Ah, yeah considering the pills are only 10mg it would be a stew if you mixed a sufficient shit anyway and I've experienced similar "meh" feeling's from an IV experience I can personally remember.  But that tricky HCl eh, that's what had my head spinning.  Durr

I happened to be reading on wikipedia and it says there that methadone has a BA of 99%. So I have no idea why anyone would attempt to inject it especially when there is no rush.

It's not 99%.  Around 80% really and it varies from person to person a bit.

I had the delayed onset explained because of how your body absorbs methadone.  I don't know if that is true or not since it came from Boro.  The truth was very subjective for that guy.

Actually it did say 41-99% on wiki, which is a very large range. It just seems that in this case oral may be the best ROA.
