That's f-ed up about them cutting down that tree, but then to say that it was an accident, yeah right what a bunch of idiots.
I thought the article about the Indonesian zoo keeper that got the orangutan pregnant was pretty funny.

I remember posting this on my Facebook a bit ago, but the article I read said it was the oldest tree "on its continent " aka S. America or the Americas. I really hope it wasn't the oldest tree in the world.
before it was cut down, *Imagine* if that tree could talk, the centuries of stories it has seen.
Now since el niño is up by usa n mexico, and not in the rainforests, these lazy fucktards just burn the jungle down.
And it used to only burn so far cuz it was wet and rained daily.
But now, not much rain, so the burning expands quickly and burns more land.
And who is the right mind would do the arson crime?
Farmers the need land for agriculture.
"Hey lets burn millions of plants and bugs so we can plant less then .0001 % (i just made that math figure out of nowhere, im sure its was more)
Hope growning a few crops was worth the destruction and death by fire.

That is one seriously awesome tree! I wonder if it was still alive and growing...
Have you guys seen a showeek called redwood loggers or something? It's about these guys who make furniture and these awesome chainsaw sculptures out of redwoods. I believe they wait until trees fall down naturally though or buy then from other people who had to get them removed for whatever reason.

Holy fuck! 5,000 years old? Damn! Tragic that some idiots that probably make $50 a month can be out there with their chainsaws happily buzzing away (probably shitfaced drunk or high on pot) and not know that this exceptionally huge tree is special. It undoubtedly looked at bit different than the other tress in the vicinity.

Trees that old and that special used to be revered and worshipped by some cultures hundreds / thousands of years ago. Charlemagne cut down a very large and old tree worshipped by the pagan Saxons in the late 8th century. He did it to demoralize the Saxons, whom he eventually conquered.
Yeah, these dumbasses were either drunk / high or severely intellectually challenged.

how could anybody want to cut it down ? imagine how many matchsticks or toothpicks that would make ... and some fool may get to find out.
