Title: Does rehab go on your record?
Post by: dillydudeEL14 on March 12, 2017, 11:47:29 PM
Hello  everyone. I was wondering if there is any way at all to go to rehab and not have it go on my medical records. I do not want all doctors that I go to in the future to know that I have gone to rehab if I go. I just do not want anyone to know and I feel that should be my right so I am wondering is there any way at all to just go to rehab and not have a record. ? I live in the USA by the way.

I could be wrong but I believe that if you use insurance they'd be able to see it. Although if u pay out of pocket I don't believe it would go on insurance....

I used insurance when I went that one time and it did not show up on my record.

I've used insurance but never had it come up in any discussions with other insurance or doctors besides my psychiatrist. If your really worried, you'll have to pay cash. Regardless if your at a point where you feel you need it, then stop looking for reasons not to go and just go.
