Description: I heard people telling there's some basical contradiction built into this term "heroin chic", but hey, I love it (and keen on/persevere) not only in spite of, but just BECAUSE OF this OXY-MORONIC thing. And I think I have few good reasons for it.
I'm standing at the point this is exactly as "oxymoronic" as anyone other subculture' image/idea aproppriated/hijacked and processed by the popculture/mainstream, i.g. gothic, emo etc.
So let's go suffer but do it aesthetic, though.
Since aestheticism is the way to express the pain, it also kinda naturally sets the limit of decline/downfall, creates the room, where "The Old Line" of pain runs out of itself, expires, getting burnt out and slowly turns into its opposition, as there's creativity needed.
Paradoxically, this is not the way to "wallow" into it, but also might help to keep the person standing firm. It also makes it all to be a little bit less serious and akin to performance.
I have to admit, it's hard to some hardcore user to bring themself to and hang in there.
Let's develope some decent sized habit but may our faces stay unscathed/flawless (use light foundation).
Let's point our veins with whole lot of darts and let's pretend it's the hottiest trend in make up (not to use any foundation).
Let's weep but so our make up gets blurred/melt away only as far as expected/planned...

Let's hurt but so we don't suffer.
Let's die from super scary gut-wrenching full blown w/d but and stay alive (and kicking).

I don't consider myself being somehow exceptional shallow/superficial in it-this is how the world is and whether we like it or not, it's an inevitable part of the Game.
