I mentioned this in a PM to chipper: Is there anyway we can change/ remove the banner? I really don't like having a huge "FORUM.DRUGS-AND-USERS.ORG" at the top of my window. Already got busted in class. I think discretion is key for HR.

IIRC, the banner was made by Taytoechip, then added by Chipper.
There used to be gallery images I think. I wouldn't mind going back to that instead. It would make it easier when browsing in public.

Yeah, I got busted at Polytech also and had to explain that it was a harm reduction site and then explain what harm reduction was/is. I got the impression that I just lost quite a bit of respect though (he's a bloody druggie scum etc).

Is it possible to be able to turn the banner off as a setting in our individual profiles? So people can choose whether it is there or not? Or maybe just have D & U Forum in the big print and the full name in smaller not so noticeable print?

Yeah, if we could turn it off that would be cool. Or just a banner that doesn't scream "drugs"? Lol
I've never designed one, but this seems kinda big. Maybe something about hr? Sorry I'm not more helpful.

tainted, I hope you understand. member's privacy has to take priority. but it's a great banner, all the same.

in the future you guys should say you volunteer with needle exchange or overdose prevention and this forum is how you get to know the needs of the population who uses those services so you can help them better.

It was a very well done banner though so please dont think it was anything to do with the quality of the banner, Tainted.

I promise im not even .000000001% upset with removing the banner!
actually, i'm more flattered than anything that chipper even used something i made in the first place.
Though i do have one small little question.

I get you mixed up as both names sound like they start with "tay" vs. "tai".

I'm glad you changed the top banner. I was thinking the same thing when my now-deceased friend was in the room with me while I was browsing the forum. He said, "Drugs and Users? What's that?" I didn't want him to get wrapped up with the wrong crowd.
Same thing with Opiophile. I had had people "in the know" question me about why I was spending so much time on Opiophile before.

whose the fuck business is it other than your own what sites your on at the university?
i went to a pretty damn conservative school and would visit opiophile regularly
on my laptop (when i had when) that was connected to the schools wireless
and in the computer lab
people need to nose the fuck out of what other people have going on
that being said, i could not be happier with the new banner
i definitely think it needs to be in keeping with our traditions
and feature the likeness of our greatest kind
