I won't go into much details but I was with my friend when she went to score some GBL.
She was given the drug in pure form and then raped, robbed and thrown out the back by someone we knew.
I found her in a near coma.
I might have prevented it but did manage some damage control. had I processed the signs properly and acted earlier, maybe this would've been averted.
the GHB/Meth scene is like no other and rarely, if ever, identified outside of the gay world. the straight version is beyond sick and twisted.
I am deeply disturbed but my friend is absolutely traumatised. HIV and STD contraction is a very real risk.

Like 90% of law enforcement wont care that she was trying to buy drugs when something of this level of violence happens. Any chance she'd be willing to press charges. I doubt its the first time or will be the last time something like this that mother fucker did. He'll do it again to someone else.

this is the best part, he had no idea that her sanctioned drug using boyfriend is also an occasional and highly effective covert operative for the drug unit and is discussing his options with his LE contacts. I normally wouldn't disclose this but the matter is too serious.
we expect he will be targeted, caught and incarcerated for dealing at the very least. we want at least some justice and I think any decent drug user can embrace this apparent conflict of interest.
we are hoping she will consent to DNA swab tests and press charges but it's looking doubtful.
he is also active in the gay community and she needs to get on PEP within 72 hours - this could have disastrous consequences for her.
this man must go down any way we can swing it.

This is more reason to release Ross William Ulbricht. This kinda shit is exactly why he created SR. It sucks that users have to deal with this sorta violence and sketchiness when the gov't could just legalize and tax everything

In principle for sure, but in reality Ross got more then a little power hungry, and it clearly went to his head. Sitting at his computer ordering murders, commisioning the abduction and beating of employees. He might have started with some good ideas and principles, but he ended up quite far away from them.

you still have the rape issue to deal with and making a drug like this available freely will only exacerbate the problem.
you CAN'T deregulate all drugs, some are just too dangerous to others.
i used to think that was the solution but after this, i can see the complications of doing so.

good question. I would say when they have the same profile as Barbiturates (as in this case) and Rohypnol.

Regarding how dangerous is too dangerous, I don't buy that, the dude could've raped her just using his bare hands, or a weapon. The drug facilitied it but probably could've been subbed with a plethora of other drugs. Look at scopolamine. Look at tons of drugs found in nature. No one can stop all that from happening, at least not in the world we live in....
Drugs don't make bad people bad, bad people are just fucking bad. the drugs were just the facilitator for this guy. If he didn't have that, he'd use something else.

I went with her. he wouldn't let me up and she said that he is sleazy and would be back in 5 mins which means 20.
I waited about 45 minutes then alerted staff.
afterwards she found her underpants inside out and felt pain in that area.
she had to go to hospital for bleeding.

thanks. it's had a big impact on me and I feel I have lost some innocence. feel sad and angry.
the boyfriend is not a cop but a criminal with a very interesting story. he now works occasionally with the cops to help convict the most dangerous dealers in a small part of the city. the guys that sell potent dope without warning people and many die. or sell to kids. that sort of stupidity.
but we will make sure that this guy is stopped.
I haven't slept since this went down, with or without Meth.

If you're fucked up in anyway on drugs/booze you administered yourself, you don't count as a victim and you deserved it. That's my experience and I've seen it everywhere. I was date raped on Halloween a few years back. Took me about a week to even realize what had happened but I reported it. The thing the cops seemed most interested in was how much I'd had to drink - asked me more questions about the details of my alcohol consumption than anything else.
That was the second time I watched my rapist go free. The police force really needs to learn how to better train there investigators on how to deal with victims of sexual violence.

It's hard to press charges on a crime you barely remember. I feel for your friend, I've been there myself. Took me over a week to even realize what had happened.

yeah, I made an anonymous call to the best place. never done that in my life but I had to do something.
boyfriend can also initiate a buy/bust scenario but I don't know if he has yet.
I could not let this guy get away with it.

an update:
the girl's mother talked her out of following it up with the police (WTF ?!) and has since forced her into detox facility miles away, for the 6th time, against her wishes naturally ... she usually either escapes or gets straight back on the dope when released.

I know ! she is very wealthy and has been paying for her habit for years, too ... she is a huge part of her daughter's problem.
her mum also doesn't believe her story and thinks it was "sex work" gone bad and since my friend has already been a victim of predators, she thinks that "it would only bring back old memories".
so the guy that did it gets away with it and my friend just has one more huge reason to keep using.

yep, Z is absolutely right and I can tell you that the response from the cops in this case has been one of disinterest.
if you take intoxocating drugs or alcohol and then get taken advantage of, especially if you are a female then don't expect the support that is deserved.
it's a cold world out there now. how naive was I ?! I'm appalled and surprised at how poorly everyone involved handled this tragedy.
I was the only one who went to the cops and I NEVER thought that I would ever do such a thing.
I think all of us, ALL of us feel the same way as we are often seen as second rate citizens.
