Swedish company has implanted microchips in its staff which allows them to use the photocopier, open security doors and even pay for their lunch.
It is hoped that eventually around 700 employees from the Epicenter hi tech office block in Stockholm may eventually have the chips implanted into the back of their hands.
The chips use radio-frequency identification (RFID) and are about the same size as a grain of rice.

Yeah this happened back in January, I believe. Not sure I would be down with it, but who knows in 20 years we might all be chipped. My dog is chipped btw (mark of the beast anyone?).

China tracks residency permits but they don't have a tiny ship everyone's head. 1.4 billion is a lot of computer chips;

Did you read the article? It isn't about chips which are just a tool to do the same thing. 30 years go people where imagining about having to get bar code tattoos which never happened.
The article describes what is happening now, in China. Every citizen has an ID number that identifies you in all things, and gives and takes away points for sharing "correct" and "approved" or "Incorrect" information AND if your friends and family voice "incorrect" opinions your score drops.
RFID chips are only ID numbers an ID card you can't lose (or escape) your "score" is held in govenment data banks. It's like a credit score for all aspects of your life to or basically how "cooperative" you are or aren't. The implants won't even be needed much longer anyway, we can all be identified by our DNA which would be more tamper-proof.
